Pav's Albi Blue 197T

Eager to hear what you think of the gearbox after getting the mount fitted. Looking likely I'll be getting this done myself later in Feb

And don't worry about vibration, unless you're fitting the upper engine mount, it's barely noticeable in my experience.

will feedback as soon as its been fitted..given that my car is a 06 plate i believe there will be a diff..as far as im aware they have never been done..so looking forward to the result..

@Pav any update on getting the gearbox mount fitted yet/plans to do it? Need to get my car booked in before the end of Feb for it's MOT and still can't decide if to go for this mount or not while the cars in

CallorFold im hoping to get them both fitted at some point next week..will let you know as soon as they've been fitted...
in my opinion you cant really go wrong by fitting the powerflex one..as said above-my car is over 10 years old and i doubt they've been changed ever..if nothing it will feel a bit tighter..

Pav just called my mechanic to get my MOT booked in for Thursday next week (18th). I've decided to go for the gearbox mount insert, so he's doing that along with full headlight bulb upgrade to OSRAM Nightbreakers while he's got the car

cool stuff..look like you the one who will be referring back sooner than me ..ok then..let us know and hope you are happy with the result...shouldnt affect the comfort as much..

ok guys..half 9 i was at my mechanics garage expecting him to say "sorry Pav but something else came up" as that happened in the past..luckily this time he sends me to get some sugar for a brew..by the time i came back he had fitted the lower engine insert
straight forward job..
then the gearbox one was in order..it takes a lot of fiddling about to get to the actual mount..then it didnt want come out..but after a little persuasion it did..job well done

went for a quick drive and i couldnt believe how much of a difference these two had made..if anyone is thinking of how to make the whole car feel tighter, this is the way..gear changes are much more precise..the lower engine insert gives me slight vibrations when pulling off but hardly noticeable..feels awesome tbh..
enough blabbing,here are some pics:

Good job Pav!

Nice something relatively cheap and simple and makes the car feel better is always a win!

Lovely car, I've only got the upper torque and lower engine insert in but my it made such a difference to the way the car feels! I just have quite a drone now on idle, but hey that's why you have a radio right!

its the torque arm insert that makes it vibrate..nothing on idle in mine..wouldnt do any other inserts as they would make it vibrate like*****
thanks for the kind comment

See I had the torque arm insert in first for a few months and it was the same, then when I put the lower engine insert in that's when it felt super vibratey, I've had someone else in my car who had the same inserts fitted to their 197 and he said it was nowhere near as bad as mine so not quite sure why it is like it is! But I've learnt to live with it, I just don't stop moving lol

Great to hear you're happy with the mounts Pav, it has convinced me I should get it done too  I liked the videos, the quality of the camera seems really good.

Those roads look like great fun, I would love to drive on them some day - possibly do a forum run out/meet there??

These roads aren't far from me so I would definitely be up for it!

The vibration from the doggone will settle down to nothing. Same with the upper torque arm. Shame I couldn't help out. Did the gearbox one (under the battery) look straightforward?
