Kit thread

What you shooting with? What you planning on buying soon?

For landscapes and daily carry I use a Sony a7 with a Zeiss 16-35mm f4. For wildlife I use a Sony a77II with a Sony 70-400 GII. I'm missing a good standard, really want a Zeiss 55mm f1.8 but money might point me towards the Sony 50mm f1.8.

Nothing flash here (No pun intended).

Just a Panasonic Lumix 16MP. - which has proved brilliant for capturing pics of the golf balls "i" collect. (Joint collection so i have to send pics to my Dad; as i have the balls in my house).

Also got a Fuji Finepix S9800 bridge camera. Tend only to use that for the macro settings now as the Lumix is so small and easy to chuck in a rucksack, car pocket etc

I recently sold a bunch of my stuff because I wasn't making use of it. I already regret it. I sold a Mk2 Canon 5D, a bunch of lenses and so on. I have older DSLRs sitting but they were really my first foray into the world of DSLRs. With the birth of my son, I needed a good quality compact so my go to camera these days is generally my Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX100. http://m.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonic-lumix-dmc-lx100

I tend to save the DSLR shooting for portrait photos and one of the cheapest lenses that I ever bought tends to remain one of my favourites - the mighty nifty fifty.

I'm trying not to buy anything next for now. It's too addictive and always leads to an inevitable move to better and more expensive lenses. So...for now, I'm keeping it simple.

It's true, you can do pretty much anything on a good fiddy. I used to have a 5d2 myself, sold it and all my canon gear when my business ended and I do really miss that camera. Took me a good four years to get back to a similar kit situation.

You are right upgrades are a very slippery slope, but I've never lost a great deal on lenses only bodies. Lenses tend to hold their value well if you don't go third party.

Still on with the trusty canon 500D with a grip, recently acquired a sigma 10-20 to go with my sigma 17-70 and nifty 50mm

I've got a 7D, 70-200 F4L, 24-104 f4L, 10-22 and a nifty fifty. Canon 600exrt, yongnuo 600exrt and the yongnuo yne3 controller.

I mainly shoot cycle races and cars

Oh nearly forgot, have a Fuji film x camera, not one of the really expensive ones but it's still great.

which one do you have? i traded in my nikon stuff for an X-T1, an 18-55 and a 14, a couple of years ago.
i also got a hasselblad 201f, a zeiss distagon 2.8/50 and a zeiss planar 2/110, which i bought secondhand from a retired pro.

last year, a friend gave me a fujifilm instax mini 8. tiny instant prints, but fun to use.

If memory serves it is an x30, doesn't have inter changeable lens but a fixed zoom lens. I bought it so I didn't have to lug the dslr when we were going to Bali this year. Didn't up going but I have a nice camera pluses and minuses LOL

Bit of a bump for this thread, didn't notice we had a photography subforum...

I currently have...

Canon EOS 40D w/ battery grip
Canon 24-70mm f4 L series
Sigma 50mm f1.4
Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 with image stabilisation.
I also have a Panasonic Lumix GF2 with a 14-42mm lens. Really surprised with the quality considering it's almost 7 years old now!
