Ok all...... how about some work pics. Something presumably alot of us do, and can join in with ! Plus we get to all find out a little more about each other...... And i bet theres some really interesting pics to be seen !

Im Foreman for an Engineering company. And i kind of specialise in on-site Engineering on a large'ish scale. 'My' biggest customer is Great Yarmouth inner and outer harbours. So i can often be found:

Hanging out of a workbasket on a crane; repairing or moving 12 ton fenders:

Making steps, platforms, ladders etc for quayside operations:

Working on a Jack-up rig:

Installing / renewing some massive rescue ladders:

Installing a overhead gantry crane:

Working on a warehouse roof:

I'm a qualified instructor and overhead gantry cranes is something I teach in... Not all the time, that's some of my job, just strange how you install them lol.

Crikey!! You're like a regular work action man. My job is somewhat different - I am currently on a two year secondment (just extended by a further two years) supporting and embedding meaningful pupil participation and children's rights in schools across Aberdeen city. That's part of my job anyway. My substantive teaching post is as a Modern Studies teacher in a school categorised by the Scottish Executive as an area of severe deprivation and I taught there for around 7 years. It's challenging (and at times heartbreaking) but, at times, very rewarding.

Some weeks i really do love my job

This week has been spent in glorious weather; working right beside the sea in Wind-farm City !

**Jack-up rig in the background is loaded up with Wind turbines. The crane's are off-loading them; some of the main bodies are standing upright in the back-ground between the two cranes on some 400 ton bases. The massive things to the right are the gearboxes. The blades are to the left.....

Engineering on a large scale !

Anyone else got some work pics ?

Looks hard work being you Sean........

They can't argue as my work output is equal to, if not more than, other team members. And I always threaten to work strictly to my job description, which they hate, so I think they just accept the lesser of two evils. I don't care, this isn't my career as I'm only here to pay the mortgage while I finish my degree. 1 year left!

'Doing the business' always gets you a little leeway.

Which the managers / owners above you; generally have no option but to tolerate within limits !

Good for you......

Filling the pool might have been hard work. Bet it wasn't paid work though Ben !

Another who must take photos on the job....

That clk dtm is just awesome.

I work for a small company that sells and installs pallet changers, inverters and stackers. My job is final prep, testing the occasional installation/service.

This was half of the workshop a few weeks back... We're absolutely rammed at the minute!

My previous job was a bit more varied however...

Civic Type R launch tour. Vesaro race simulator which moved when you did anything with any steering, throttle or brake inputs. Awesome bit of kit!
