Advice please......

I have to either repair or replace the manifold on the AG..... I am currently running full Ktec system, decat and standard manifold. Options are as follows:

1. Weld existing manifold, hopefully in place on car and save some cash, as any of the following options will also require a remap / rolling road set up at rs tuning...... but if the manifold has to come off to repair then the options are as follows.

2. Ktec manifold to match the system, comes with larger bore 4 branch than standard or the eBay £194 stainless manifolds. Ktec website seems to not be favourable of the ebay manifolds in quality or performance.....

3. Ebay stainless steel manifold??

4. PMS manifold and complete race system..... then sell the ktec full system on here

Any comments queries appreciated as up until now I have been a 182 modifier, and now I have gotten over the expense that the 200s bring I just have to get on with it!!

As a note the AG is supercharged, putting out 315bhp

Thoughts / advice greatly apppreciated.

The ebay system you refer to is the toyosport, which is fairly popular on here, lots of praise for it. But as you've mentioned, the quality is not as good as the ktec item, also some do have a problem with fitment and change various mounts etc to get it to fit properly.

Doubt you are going to weld it in place on the car, its the flexis that go and really needs to be out to be welded properly...

If it were me fitting it, in your situation, with the power the car has and the fact you already have the ktec system, that would probably what id be looking at.

Is this due to the flexi's blowing ?

You won't be repairing / welding new ones on the car if it is I assure you. Would be impossible to get a torch all around / on top to weld it IMO.

It's not the flexis that have went, they are like new.... it's after those where the two pipes go into one.....

MIGHT be possible to cut and remove and with the use of sleeves / clamps get something to fit back on nicely.

Is this because of cracking issues or corrosion ?

Pretty neat crack right round the factory weld..... could be corrosion, but the system is in good condition, although the car is low mileage so who knows..... it runs pretty firm as well and it was on two wheels at Clarke last week so most possibly the reason for the fracture!!

The ktec manafold makes sense as it is meant to be strengthened and would compliment the ktec system, but still comes with a flexible..... the PMS doesn't appear to have the flexi just a springs sleeved set up which looks very nice, and I'm a real PMS quality fan! Price is comparable with ktec, biggest issue is that it only mates up to their system!

I have the Toyo. *Touch-wood* zero issues coupled with the Powerflex engine / gearbox bushes to protect the new single flexy long term and prevent the excessive engine movement that destroys the flexy joints in the first place.

BUT: If your car was mine - I have to say I wouldn't fit it....

With your track use and true performance engine: I'm with Chris and would be going the KTec route: or get the PMS and have a local exhaust fabricator make an adapter to fit to your car.

Will be no big issue to anyone with any skill and savvy !

The AG is deafening already mate..... how do you rate the quality of the ktec manifold?

Difficult for me to comment on the quality it was fitted for me never saw it before fitting - as in previous post luke_197's review gives a better opinion than I can.

I had the car remapped the same time, it gives a good 'loud' whine at around 3.5k mark, but in a good way - to me the car just sounds really angry now!.

I know A few people had them fitted on the forum general opinion is they are good quality especially over the toyo options, but the issue is the cost of the K Tec vs Toyo, I think @sevenfourate is on the money, sounds like your car is very modified for track so would fit perfectly with your setup - if the money is not an issue.

I went with it as I have an akra fitted, cams fitted - to me it was a no brainer, but I did get free fitting and remapped after included in the price so that kind of made up for the initial cost to me.

The AG is certainly very modified, full track, but done in a clubsport way to hide everything, so looks like a real wolf in sheeps clothing (aggressive looking sheep all the same!!)..... given away mainly when you start her up and you know there's something very different, so it sounds like the ktec manifold will make it even more obvious :grimacing::grimacing:

I think it will either be the ktec or full PMS route, will give them both a call to discuss.

Cheers for assistance / comments and I'll keep you updated....

Ktec seems cheapest option.

Would the larger bore not compliment the charger with it being able to dispose of the exhaust gases quicker (with a map tweak of course)

That's the plan, anything that helps her breath more easily.... in all fairness though the standard manifold does look reasonably beefy and well set up.

Further investigation today shows a crack around the pipes, as noted previously, and the RHS flexi is away, so it will be a new manifold, but I'm swaying towards the full PMS system and manifold and sell in the ktec and decat on........

I've got the KTEC manifold on my AG, it is very loud but I'm also running a scorpion catback decat too, I think th quality is really great and the welds are properly nice!

Next bit of advice if any one could possibly help.......

Full PMS manifold and straight through system is ordered, so I'm wondering if anyone knows how much heat wrap I'll need to cover the manifold down to end of the 4 branch?

Cheers
