Expensive morning for the LY (and life in general!!!)

So I’ve contact KTEC this morning, as I think the sensible option at this point would be to go KTEC manifold and exhaust system (goodbye the Akra dream, shattered upon the mani giving way :worried: )

I questioned why they’re out of stock on the website, but looks like they’re undergoing some tweeks at the minute, so may have to play the patience game and fully embrace my Mustang sounding Renault for a short while!

I should really create my own thread at some point, rather than documenting everything in a thread! One step at a time mind!

Let me know what you guys think, or whether I should steer well clear! I’ve also queried them on the warranty on the manifolds, if someone knows that answer let me know!

Unless I’m on crack, did I read somewhere that Andy at Engine Dynamics does reconditioned manifolds? Might be worth doing that (in a potentially fictional world) and slapping on a Scorpion system and using the forum discount?

Would be a lot more convenient for myself if such a method was possible (ED only 50 minutes away / KTEC a good 3 hour drive!), I’ll get in touch and see what they can offer!

@BigBen this being the only downfall, not too fussed about LOUD, I want efficiency and longevity, but if it comes to it I guess I can’t be picky!

In other news, I’ve found out why the boilers losing pressure!!! The state of that rad!

It looks that they are changing the design once again, the first one would be prone to cracking as there was no flexis, that issue was in theory rectified with the second design (the one I've got). Touch wood no issues so far with mine but I will be very interested to hear why they are changing the design.

Will try and find this out for you if i get the chance to drop it in my mail conversations!

Sorry to spam your thread Ross, but just had another thought - surely Chris at Beaniesport has a load of manifolds from conversions?

Another good thought! The only thing I’m thinking of is preferably I’d like to put a stainless one on, in terms of longevity!

I’m hoping, if I can afford to do so, to put this car aside once I feel the need to buy a family car (not happening soon!)

toyo has good reviews...

Good shout. Toyo mani and a Scorpion resonated could be a more cost-effective (and more readily available) option? I believe Shuv has this set up and was always happy with it, sound-wise.

I was thinking the same Jimmy, though wasn't sure about emissions - but clearly Shuv had no problems come MOT time. It's the most sensible setup really.
