First Year of Ownership - RB 197 with pics

Thought i would share with you my (slow)progress over the past year!
Hopefully a road trip this year and a track day or two.

After owning a 1.2 for nearly 4 years and modifying stupidly like a ‘cool’ 18 year old i matured to a TT for just over a year. After regretting not buying a 197/200 after my first clio i couldnt wait any longer and bought a RB 197!

It already had h&r’s and spacers which i planned to fit anyway so that saved me some pennies.
It also had the manifold changed and a direnza/ ebay special exhaust on it. Not what id have put on it but i am picking up my scorpion Res in a couple weeks!!

The interior was slightly tired so i had it all sprayed gloss black, along with the mirror backings and rear diffuser!

Changed my plate over to a private one i had on the TT and added some exhaust tips.

I also changed my head unit and speakers as lets be honest they are not the greatest

Then after finally deciding on a sprint spoiler i got one ordered painted and stuck on over christmas! Sets the back off very nicely. I managed to get some projector lights from ebay at a steal of a price so changed them over whilst the sprint was drying.

Im quite happy with the way it looks at the moment. In two minds abouts going for gloss black wheels or leaving them for now.

Recaro’s have been on my mind since the day i bought it but they will have to wait for now. Brakes and tyres next and the exhaust ofcourse. But i am happy with how it looks at the moment after giving it a good clean last weekend!

Welcome, nice car, great colour! I'm still of the opinion that a sprint spoiler is for those who feel a Renaultsport should have a spoiler, but aren't quite comfortable with having a spoiler whereas the Cup spoiler says "sports car", but I know not everyone feels the same. It'd be boring if we did! Enjoy the car, they're great fun to rev & get the best from. Beats a turbo for driver satisfaction imho.

I agree mate. I think the sprint really sets off the back and looks like it came from factory! Dont get me wrong the cup spoiler suits it too but gives it a much more racecar/track car look. Both look good though

Speedlines or 200 wheels in gloss black! Standard 197 look a bit lost in the arches blacked out is my personal opinion..

Lovely car, I drool over RB Clios. If I put more thought into it before I bought mine, I probably would have had one!

Glad you've gone for the correct exhaust system for it, they sound absolutely amazing, you won't regret it.

Excited to get the system fitted. Picking it up in a couple of weeks. Havnt heard one in person only on vids but heard soo many good things about scorpion!

Hey mark love the car, great colour and loving that spoiler. Mind me asking how much the spoiler set you back? How much for painting? And was it easy to fit? Would love to get a sprint spoiler for my 197.

Thanks mate! Spoiler was about £190 with postage. Painted it at work for nothing! Relatively easy to glue on. Plenty of glue and lots of strong tape to stick it down as its a bit rigid. I didnt use the glue that came with it. I work in a bodyshop so used some super strong stuff but the glue it comes with( a bit like tigerseal) will do the job fine!
