    Pulled by the police

I think its technically ok to undertake if your lane is travelling faster than the next lane. It however you pull to the left, drive past and then chop back in, it's a naughty one. I know what you mean about the whole "get out of the way" thing though - I do 65 odd miles a day and its a pet hate.

    200 clocks in a 197?

That would be magic - like driving along with my ex in the passenger seat :D

    200 clocks in a 197?

To be fair, not a lot. The tachy is yellow and IIRC 150rpm before you need to shift up you get a beep (a gimmick maybe but I think it would be fun and useful on track).

    200 clocks in a 197?

So, I've been reading a lot of posts and saw somebody mention having the dials from a 200 in a 197. Is this a possibly option? Would it be possible to make the beeping shift light work? Thanks!

    Me again.... remap question

So, I have a bit of info on this. My insurance company have said that as I will not be upping the power by 10% or more, a remap will add about £40 annually to my insurance. Result! The 197 is calling...

    Me again.... remap question

Thanks for the response. That sounds pretty familiar now you mention it - I remember enquiring with my insurance company as to how much remapping a Golf GTI would be. What with the turbo, it would have hiked the power up but 40-45bhp (according to the tuners). It double the insurance :S I'm...

    Buying a wrapped car.

I guess it does in so much as the car is not longer exposed to the elements. Its a bit like saying that if a bear ate you, at least you wouldn't feel the cold though :D

    Buying a wrapped car.

As part of my job I have specced up and had several vehicles wrapped over the last few years. A mate of mine also had an S197 Mustang wrapped in matt black (isn't car fashion predictable!). What I'd say is, if the car has been wrapped for a prolonged period of time, the adhesives are not a good...

    Me again.... remap question

Hi folks, So, despite my slight concerns about the power curve on the 197, I'm still very much looking in to buying an F1. My question for today is, how effective is a remap in freeing up mid range torque and most importantly, how savage are the insurance implications to having a remap...

    Considering a 197...

I sure did - I just found that it was a little tiring to drive it up that high constantly. The throw of the box was lovely for sure and it was nice having instant power if you changed at the right point but never the less, it took effort to hustle along. I'm really trying not to be negative as...

    Considering a 197...

So, I went for my test drive today. Initial thoughts were 'wow, what a good looking car'! Everything is proportioned really well and overall, everything seemed to just fit. The Recaros and nothing short of awesome and things inside were all nice. The plastics aren't too cheap feeling and like I...

    Considering a 197...

Ouch - that's pretty savage! I guess I best get the car specced properly from the start...

    Considering a 197...

Thats where my theory falls down - I'm pretty sure I want the Cup chassis but I know I want the Recaros. If I don't get an R27, so be it. Wit regard to the Recaros, would I maybe be best opting for a car in the colour I want with the cup chassis and then sourcing some new Recaros from Renault?

    Considering a 197...

Thanks for the responses everyone - I know you are all obviously fans but it's good to hear balanced feedback for people who live with the cars. It's exactly the same as yours... :D For me, its that, liquid yellow or white all the way.
