Alton towers

I went last Thursday with my other half... 2 hour drive there which I couldn't even enjoy in my Clio because it's in the garage, proper shame because there were some really nice roads too.

Anyway, we get there, go on one ride, my head starts pounding with the worst headache I've ever had and my other half throws up, so we came straight home :tearsofjoy:

The last time I went it was the Smiler that made me feel sick all day - not because of any safety issues, it just didn't agree with my stomach... I used to love going on rollercoasters, but that day the Smiler and Oblivion (which used to be one of my favourites) made me feel so ill and it's put me right off them :worried:

River Rapids (or whatever it's called) is great though! The scary tree thing is a good one for getting the other half to snuggle up

The roads there are great too and nice to drive on! Have fun!

I went earlier on in the year and managed to get on everything! Rita QOS was down for most of the day but happened to reopen as we went through to that area of the park, managed to get front seats within minutes!

I advise never walking through the gardens if you respect your partner/sanity, I receieved a right earbashing for ignoring the cable cart! Good workout mind!

Was absolutely distraught when I found out they had got rid of the log flume ride where you went in a bathtub! The first ride I ever went on at Alton as a child!

I went a couple of year ago before the Smiler incident where that poor girl lost her legs, I remember queuing up for it not long after it had just opened and a bolt fell off and hit someone in front of us... they still left the ride open after a short inspection. Even when you were on it, it didn't feel 'right' as if there were far too many vibrations. I know it's a roller coaster and you get vibrations but it just didn't seem to flow as smoothly as say Nemesis or Air. I enjoy the park it's a good day out. Wouldn't mind going Thorpe Park but that's a fair trek from me so would work out rather expensive because it would probably involve having to stop over.

Was kind of put of going to Alton Towers as my friend lost her leg due to the incident, and ever since they have had bad press. (with recent failures)

Well was a cracking day!!

We didn't go on the smiler, completely put off back the indicidents that happened a couple of years ago, I'm sure it's fine now but not something I'd ever trust...

The core rides were still ever brilliant, the only one we were disappointed with which is what was once air, now called galaticla, which you now where VR goggles whilst going around so feels like your in space, the technology not quite there yet I don't feel, it was well done but not quite realistic/refined enough...

Was quite annoyed as we went timing it so the kids were in school and a weekday so lots of people were at work, still however loads and loads of bloody kids everywhere! What is school these days?? Seriously...

Phwoar, now that's what I call a breakfast (at 9pm )! Hope it filled a hole Chris!

Was a mixed grill mate!

2 sausages, steak, pork chop, lamb chop, gammon steak, tomato, mushroom, chips, beans! Winner winner.

Can see how it looks like breakie though haha!

Haha, I totally missed the fact there was a load of chops on that plate  must have had bacon on the brain! Tasty either way, I'm sure!

Probably the fact they were covered by a mountain of chips, a can of beans, mushrooms, black pudding etc etc etc.

Looks like Chris did ok and chose to wash it all down with diet coke though
