So i'm a clean-freak. I clean quite often.

I have Autobrite Purple Rain in the armoury, and more to the point a cheap brand i've been using as my 'daily' cleaner of choice. But this is running out and i need to purchase more....

So whats not expensive, goes along way and wont strip either the sealer i stuck on after powdercoating or the QD i top up with weekly ?????

My wheel regime is take them off every month and top up with Swissvax Autobahn then deep clean every 6 months. In between that just Meguiars HyperWash as foam then wash with Poorboys shampoo.

I used to use special wheel cleaning chemicals but after reading the advice given when I bought new wheels for winter use only with my winter tyres I now just use the normal shampoo that I use on the rest of the car.

the Elves as I dislike this activity....
i use water only..no chemical on my wheels..

I think if your wheels are protected , and you clean them regularly (sounds like you do). Then i am not sure you will need an aggressive cleaner, shampoo should do. Could even load a cheap shampoo into a garden sprayer to give it a pre-spray before using the mitt.

Agree with the above, if they are well protected and kept on top of then shampoo will do nicely! i even use Quick Detailer as a quick top up and also helps get rid of the water marks! (used when wheels are cleaned)

Exactly what i've started using on my wheels now as part of my cleaning regime.

If kept ontop of...wheels are very easy to clean now after coating with a QD (Sonax BSD for me).

Agree they are very easy to keep clean if kept on top of (keeping on top of it is the hard part)

I also have one of these http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/ez-detail-brush/prod_480.html it is very handy as it helps clean inside of the wheel and is nice and small (although it reaches to the back of the alloy)

Quick detailer can be used for a lot of things, i spray it on the car when i am using my drying towel as it also helps dry the car and helps preventing the water spots.

Yes - lots of people on the various detailing forums advise and advocate using a spray of QD as part of your drying ritual.

Maybe i need to do / try this too !

Would 100% recommend it! even if it doesnt help drying it helps get rid of the water marks when drying which is a big plus, i highly rate Autoglym QD, and its even better that you can get it from most shops and Halfords often do a deal on Autoglym cleaning products.

Would recommend getting a wheel brush aswell if you dont already have one, it seems a bit of a pain but takes an extra minutes and helps get inside the wheel.

Another vote for a QD when drying as it helps to lube your drying towel. Most important when drying your paintwork is to 'sheet' the water off the car with an open ended hose. This will give you less water to dry if your paintwork is well protected.

With Swissvax waxes the way is less is more. I think it's worth the extra £££ for the protection it gives. I use Mirage on my paintwork and Lotos Speed as a QD which adds protection also.

Yeah well it's a lot of money to swallow at once even if it does last a long time!!
