It usually is those chavs in the corsas but this time it was someone in an Astra :tearsofjoy:

To be fair the damage isn't that bad, it's round the outer edge so it should cover fairly well with the little satin black paint pen I picked up from Halfords.

Gutted for you Dale, it's a horrible feeling. Hopefully it won't cost too much to put right.

They all need refurbishing anyway, one of them has stated to fade and looks slightly purple...

Might give it a go myself, sand them all down stick some of that gum stuff on and spray them all. Worst case scenario it turns out crap and I'm down a few hours and couple of quid for the spray cans :tearsofjoy:

Gutted mate, really sorry to hear that dude, as mes said we have all been there...

First day I drove to work when I got my 200t it was cold at 5am and I was fiddling trying to work out the heater controls and scraped my alloy the entire way around, not even knicked it since!

I imagine you were absolutely gutted! Especially after having owned the car for such little time.

Are your alloys diamond cut? Aren't they a pain to repair?

Went and picked up and fitted my Recaros today, bought from @niall_227 who even helped me fit them at his so I could drive in them on the way back!

He also showed me his Alien Green which until today I'd never seen in person, and it does look so much nicer in the flesh!

Took a sneaky pic

The Recaros are so much better than standard, especially when you're cornering quickly they really keep you locked in place. They're absolutely perfect for my Cup chassis and poweflex mounts as everything feels so smooth and the cars so planted it's unreal.

I'll tell you right now though they're so bloody awkward to get in and out of when you're trying not to touch the bolsters :excited:I look like I should be parked in a disabled spot when I get in and out :tearsofjoy:

Anyway here's a crappy pic I took earlier  ignore the milk on the passenger seat :tearsofjoy:

I'm tempted to get covers, but they're really nice to look at so I would be a shame to hide them away... still undecided though!

Cover (Drivers side) for the week at work perhaps and remove at weekends ?

Seat will still feel the same and hug your better; cover or not ?

I cant imagine how quickly i could damage a bolster squeezing in and out when garaging every night....... :-(

Enjoy pal. Look great and i bet they feel even better. I've never even sat in one yet !

Nice one on the Recaros Dale. They just finish the car off don't they. Shame about the alloy but I'm sure you will sort that out. You really are making this car your own.

This is a good idea actually mate, covers for the week commute and then remove for the weekend.

You've not sat in one?! They're amazing! They force you to sit perfectly upright so helps your posture, and when you go around corners at speed they lock you in place and somehow make the car feel more planted, it's amazing!

I'd definitely recommend them as our cars are most efficient at cornering, and that's where the Recaros really come alive!

Almost forgot!

Some plonker earlier today was going too fast around a corner that has no visibility, and it's a narrow residential road, so I had to swiftly pull to the left to avoid hitting him which resulted in my alloy grinding against the kerb about 3/4 the way around the alloy! :censored:

So pissed off as it looks horrible! Should be able to do a botch job with the satin black pen kit i got from Halfords but I'm
definitely going to have to get them all refurbished at some point :worried: one of the rears has some sort of water stain and looks kind of purple under certain light...

Meh... atleast I didn't crash!
Oooh yes! The worst thing to happen in your car apart from bodywork damage. My sympathies to you. Funnily enough I have 2 sets of Speedlines, one for summer & one for winter, though that'll probably change to one for road & one for track once I wear my winter tyres out, & I really don't like Speedlines. I only keep them coz they're probably worth more than other Clio wheels. Gimme Ultralegerras anytime

Ditto on the speedlines.

You gonna get one repaired; or re-do the whole lot Dale ?

The seats look great Dale - agreed on them being ideal in the Clio, such a good place to sit!

I do have covers for mine - Pav's right, it is a shame to cover them up, however it's my passengers that I don't trust...zero sympathy for a fine Recaro :weary: They do come off at the weekend and whenever I go for a 'fun' drive.

Absolutely awesome mate. The Recaros are just SO good. Look infinitely better than standard and you feel so much better in the car with them. Excellent purchase.

I'd do the lot, if I get one done it will look less faded than the rest and probably stick out like a sore thumb!

please dont buy covers for the beauties..shame to hide them away..so awesome these seats..gotta love a touch of a Recaro theme in your car..

Yeah I've now decided against covers, I'll just have to make sure I'm extremely careful getting in and out, and any passengers that don't listen when I ask them to be careful can just walk instead :tearsofjoy:

Yeah definitely a shame covering them, but it's good to protect them especially if, as you said, you have passengers who don't appreciate how delicate those bloody bolsters are :tearsofjoy:

So I weighed the standard Clio seats and came out with these figures...

Passenger seat: 20.7kg
Drivers seat: 23.5kg

Bit odd that ones heavier than the other

Does anybody know the weight of the Recaros? They're in my car now so I can't be bothered to remove them just to weigh them.

A quick search on here didn't give any conclusive figures.
