    Welshname's Deep Black 197

This is where it all went wrong for me. It was not good. Then I thought things got better: But they didn't Then I finally got it all back and decided to have another crack at removing the ****ty CD changer setup.

    Welshname's Deep Black 197

Nothing too interesting to report. MOT is due early in May and I need 2 new tyres, inner tie rods and MAYBE a windscreen, need to check if the crack is going to fail or not. As the weather was hot recently I discovered that although my AC says it's working, it's not. It's got the common...

Squeal/Whine full lock right when staionary

Usually a noise that sounds like a whine. Stationary was the key word that he said so there is absolutely NO WAY it could be balljoint, to me it sounds like the PAS pump failing, if it's this a flush of fluid could make it spot on again, but it could also be a failing steering rack that's...

It isn't difficult at all to do work on cars yourself. Just read up, and get stuck in, that's how I learnt.

I posted about the group buy that TurboRenault were holding on here in the flatspot thread. It is usually £295 + VAT if your car hasn't been camm'd and it's just exhaust and filter. However with the group buy it was £100 off the price if you put your deposit in before the end of Feb and booked...

LY200 - too loud or blow up again, taking bets!

Pretty much pal. Like I said, I'm in NO way knocking their work. It's superb and everything that comes out of that place is spot on, it's just that their rollers over read a little. People always seem to get the wrong end of the stick with that, thing is it over reads on the standard car and...

LY200 - too loud or blow up again, taking bets!

This is going to be superb but take TDI north figures with a pinch of salt. Their work is second to none in the Honda world but their RR figures are a little over reading. Standard 172 make 180+ on their rollers most of the time.

    Life after Evo, replacements?

You should make her sell the scooby too then (assuming you're the ben I'm thinking you are). On a serious note R26, Ultra Red. All the others will bore you (182 you'd have some smiles in but day to day would drag) same can be said for the DC5. 3 MPS, fast, fairly reliable but just a bit...

Advice Required 197 lack of power

That hasn't lost any horses...They aren't 197 bhp. They are 197ps. And renault tolerances are so varied that you could end up with anything around the 180-190 range.

Advice Required 197 lack of power

Wait are you looking at whp and not atf? At the fly is the figure that should be closer to 197. If it's 123 at the fly you've got serious issues

    Flat Spot

Yeah had one on the 172 and it was cracking. However just thought I'd stick this on here as there is currently a group buy for a remap at RS Tuning being organised and because of the fact there are more than 10 people already with their names down the price is £100 less than it should be...

    Flat Spot

Has anyone stuck an RS Tuner map on their 197? It is a massively common thing for the 172/182 and it makes a huge difference. Sorts the cold running out etc.

    Geometry setup lancashire

Yeah, it's more expensive than your standard laser alignment at around £50 but it's well worth the money. Really nice people there, waiting area is nice and clean and not very garage like, there's a subway at the petrol station over the road to grab some food too.

    Geometry setup lancashire

Where abouts are you based? If you're near to Oldham then drury lane services is where I always go. Hunter alignment is a must, no standard laser alignment (even though you only have toe to adjust on a standard clio) ever comes close.

    Welshname's Deep Black 197

So a little bit of progress but in reality a back step. Had another fiddle around last night with the stereo setup to try and work out what does what. The yellow connector that controls the dash and the stalk controls in a 197 that comes with and Update List stereo seems to control the...
