    Engine temperature?

Your thermostat isn't working properly. It should rise to half and stay there. Mine did what yours is doing, changed the 'stat and it was fine afterwards.

197: 197 pokes out to the sides when full throttle

I'm sorry but it isn't torque steer, especially at 80kph+. The 197/200 doesn't have enough torque to induce torque steer, especially at those speeds. Especially due to the type of front hubs it has, it's just not possible. Whatever is happening on your car is not torque steer.

    Projector lights and aftermarket HID?

I think the hole will be for the wires to run through as it won't use the OEM bulb plug etc. At least that's what I had to do when I fitted a kit to my dads Volvo V50.

Car has already been mapped with a panel filter in I've changed to a cone filter does

No - it'll be fine. Although you are probably losing power with the cone filter on.

    Gearbox Refurb In Essex

Not sure on the cost of refurb, but you can have a new box for £660 here http://www.renault-spares.co.uk/new-renault-clio-sport-197-rs-200-20-16v-gearbox---tl4-024-tl4024-7330-p.asp

    What exactly is my 200?

No such thing as a full fat. Never has been, never will be. It's just an invented term. What you have is a Clio 200 with the cup pack. FF was invented by the Clio 182 crowd I think to mean a non cup car with both cup packs (the 182 had a cup styles by and cup chassis option)

    Recaro seat tracks

Seems drastic to change them due to being 'a bit stiff' I'd imagine cleaning and creasing them would work best. Also, I don't think the runners are interchangeable between the std and Recaro seats.

    Cambelt change

I think what you read is probably the difference in F4 engines. Some of the none Renault Sport versions use a shorter locking tool on the cam pulleys, it's a small adapter that you use on the Renault Sport engines that replaces one small section.

    Replacing Crank Pulley

I believe you can't just undo the pulley as the sprocket behind isn't keyed so is only held in place by the torque of the bolt. Ideally the timing needs locking into position first with the timing tools. i could be wrong, I'm sure someone will be along to say

    Bumper Scratch Repair

Yep, as Steve has said. I wouldn't go to the hassle of a bumper re-spray and risk having none matched paint. Not when you can just have that polished and removed 80-100%. Probably cost less than a tenth of having it painted too, and it'll only take an hour or so.

    ST 2.5 talk to me

I have the same engine in my Volvo S40. Currently at about 300bhp and 360-370lb-ft peak torque. The clutch is so far perfect in my car. It really is luck of the draw on both clutches and liner problems. The cracked liner issue can be avoided for not much money, <£500 will get the liners...

    Braking Fault / Stop Light

It does, but in the 15+ years I've been driving I've never had a set of pads that had worn enough to drop the fluid by a significant amount. Not worth the risk with brakes, best to take a look over them IMO.

    Braking Fault / Stop Light

My concern would be - where did the fluid go? It's a sealed system, so if the level has dropped then the fluid must have leaked somewhere. Keep an eye on the level and check each caliper and line for signs of fluid - just to be safe.

Clio 197/200 altenator the same ?

Eurocarparts list the same part number for a 197 and 200. I can't see any reason why they would be different

    Brembo Caliper seals

Are they all wrinkled? Mine were the same. I think I came to the conclusion that it was brake cleaner or some alloy wheel cleaner that did that to mine

    Brembo Caliper seals

I too used the Budweg ones, perfectly fine. It's just a piece of rubber after all. I made a guide of the strip and rebuild of the Brembo's, it's somewhere in the guide section if you need it.

    Flat Spot Worse Than Normal

I believe the spark plug change is 36k miles with no time limit. So really they should only have been changed once by now.

197: Leaving the fold - Advice

Have the belts been done? If not then that's a big negative. It's at least 3 years over due by now. It would be worth putting the car to std (if you have the OE parts) and selling like that, as people of said, you should get decent money for some of the parts.

    Rear cup shock 197/200 diffences

I'm not sure to be honest, probably need a 200 owner to confirm if it's just the top mount that is different or if the shock is too.
