    Looking at a golf - eek :S

Yes and when I test drove it it became the only choice. Of course people can argue that you don't need a 5 door for kids but it definitely makes it easier. Loving the car at the moment and although the handling isn't as good as the Clio the drive is so much smoother and the interior is just a...

    Looking at a golf - eek :S

Thanks, will Deffo look into that if I ever get bored. But as I've just bought it today, that ain't happening any time soon :)

    Looking at a golf - eek :S

I agree, the full fat with cup suspension is definitely the best of both worlds. Visited the garage tonight and think I may have bought the golf! It's such a good car and it's had all servicing (including DSG box service every 40k) already done. Also having a body shop makeover due to a few...

    Looking at a golf - eek :S

I was considering the mk5 ed30 but prefer the look of the mk6 and believe it will look a bit newer for longer (as I will be keeping for a number of years). Babies are expensive so probably another 2 or 3 years but by then should be more than financially stable with affording the car and if not...

    Looking at a golf - eek :S

So on the way home the other night decided to pop into the local vw garage and check out a 2010 golf gti that they had in stock (mk6, DSG, 5 door). Now, the missus has been banging on at me to get a 5 door car for about a year now as she is getting all broody and thinks the clio a little...

    Black strips on doors faded

Yeah, I had my B pillars wrapped in a subtle (;)) carbon fibre effect wrap for £10 and it looks a lot better. Can't remember how much Renault wanted for replacing the rubber but it was something extortionate.

    Lord Aleem..

Fair enough, I retract my bell comment. Saw one video and thought he seemed a bit of a tool is all. (Not a bell because of the r replica as that was a really good idea). How come their cars have been damaged? Were they all in one location?

Has anyone tried this with a 6-8 year old car (preferably red) and seen how it comes out. Fancy a try myself but worried about the outline that would be left. I believe that there was a video of one of the guys on here debadging on YouTube. I'll see if I can find it.

    Lord Aleem..

Funnily enough was watching a YouTube video today about a rocco r replica that he had made and was thinking...you seem like a bit of a bell. No one deserves that though.

    How much would you charge?

To be fair if they are 'mates' then I wouldn't charge any money specifically. Just a crate of beer or the odd favour got me a one to one lowdown from my professional detailing friend. But like above if you are using your own stuff then maybe ask for a contribution or for them to club together...

Does this look normal?? - oil near spark plug

Did the sealant fix the issue? I think that I have the same problem but on a slightly larger scale!

    Ahh help! Oil from somewhere!

Also I may be being thick, but I went through the entire 48 odd page thread on my night shift (half asleep admittedly) and couldn't find anything about the cam covers :S. Checked the oil on the dipstick and have just over half so either this hasn't been happening a while or it's literally been...

    Ahh help! Oil from somewhere!

Cleaned it up and drove to work and upon checking it again the exact same amount of oil was sitting there :@. It did first appear to be coming from the bolt just out of sight under the cover/manifold. I'll clean it down and sit watching it run for 5-10 minutes to see if I can locate the source...

Will these discs + pads do?

Did you get the additional coating? As I believe this elimates the rusting...but I might be wrong

    Later R.S badging

For me it has to be the new style, I will be looking to swap mine when I debadge the C-L-I-O

    Ahh help! Oil from somewhere!

How much to get it sorted roughly? Glad it's nothing to worry about :), but might still get it sorted when it comes to servicing time as getting the aircon fixed as well. Thanks for the help guys!

    Ahh help! Oil from somewhere!

Driving home from work this morning (working nights this week) I hear a bit of a funny sound from the engineer bay. Like a whirring noise and when I get home I decide to pop the bonnet with the engine running to have a listen (nothing new, I find that I do this once or twice every few months due...
