    Thanks Sean. Stickers we’re off when I got it. But having also had R26s too I have a love hate with the stickers. For me, it’s just the right amount of special without being OTT. Stickers are about £125 in total for front and back, so not too bad.

    “You’re right” It was a one make serious therefore the cars were built to spec, not to the outright best performance. Who knows, or who cares what is the actual best, because at road speeds you’ll never notice the minute difference.

    You won’t even notice 5mm visually. Mine are 19mm all round and look great. I’m no racing driver, but the only difference I’ve noticed is trying to pull a quick U-turn the steering is quite heavy. At speed, when flowing, no difference.

    Megane 225 & Clio 197/200 steering racks

    Just bumping this back to the top for an answer... Inner and outer rods are the same. Is the rack? If so, I’m just breaking an R26 so will be keeping one for spares!

    How reliable is a conversion?

    Keep the 250. The 225/230 engine is a bit of a lottery. Yours has far stronger rods and better feeling. R26 is limited on torque by the rods to 300lb/ft and fueling kills pistons. Never Megged a Clio. But had a 225 Trophy and 2x R26s.
