225 Tyres

Morning guys

A while back on the old forum someone posted pics of their 197 on 225/45/17 tyres. Unfortunately i am needing to buy new tyres and this profile is cheaper than the 215's ;/

Wondering if anyone has done this?

Was it a nimbus 197 with black standard wheels? If it was it could've been photos of my car on it's track wheels and tyres. I have 225/40's on them, Goodyear eagle f1's. Can't repost the pics at the mo cos I'm doing this on my iPhone but the look good and fit well. Seem to fill the arches a little nicer than the standard size.

If you wanna see the pics again let me know and I'll repost them.

Dasseh, just bare in mind 225/45 is closer to the diameter of spec. 215/45, than 225/40 is...

225/40 would probably have a slightly harsher ride than 225/45 or 215/45.

I wonder why they didn't go 225/45 from the factory?

225/45 R17 on 7.5 inch OEM rims, admittedly with 25mm spacers

I have 225/45/17 and find them better than the 215 contis
