8.5X18" 5X108 Et42...uhm...

Would have thought 8.5j might be a bit too far.
How does all this stack up. If I found the correct info I'm obviously on standard 7.5j 68et? In terms of filling the arches more is this extra inch and the offset of 42et be going too much. I'm not 100% on the relationship of width changes and offset! I really like the alloy but so far can only find it in 8.5 and not just 8.

i've got the 8X18 ET66 interlagos wheels on my clio (the ones you get on a raider). doing a quick calculation, an 8.5 inch wide rim with ET42 will extend a further 30mm. that's 1,18 inch. too much i would think.

8.5J is an inch wider than OEM and an inch is 25.4mm. So that means 12.7mm each side, plus (68-42) = 26mm further out due to offset so we are talking 38.7mm or nearly 4 cm further out!

It's a no for me tbh...

Website details these specs if this is anything to go by! So if one would like a better 'stance' and to 'fill' the arches, what's the recommended size for an 18" rim. Seems there is not great choice for the 197?!

thanks everyone for the replies!

fronts are: 8,5J et42 215/40/18 hankook V12, definately needs some angle grinder work on the front arches when lowered, check my project thread for more pics

no mate, rears are 225/40/18 9,5j et40 with machined stub axle's to reduce width. It's all in my project thread

I've looked at some more and found, 8x18 and 42et which should be a safer bet. Black and bronze, thoughts?

Can someone confirm that 17x7.5j et42 will be ok on my arches? The car is lowered slightly on spax coilovers? From ground to top of arch is 615mm if that helps:laughing:
