Boosted 7UP track toy - New Toy Revealed

Just some small updates, not allot is happenening.

I've had my wheels off and test fitted my cupracer wheels, what a nice difference that width has on the wheels. I think I'm going to go with shorter springs on the front to drop it down abit more. But I want to really get it on track and give it stick to make sure I'm happy with how it's set up.

As the wheels were off, I took a look at what Sean's done to the car, so cupracer suspension and new braided lines were looked over. Must say I did have a little giggle to myself when I saw the size of this spring! True coilover on the rear.

Back to livery.. So stickers going on and wrapping it, however I did just love the clean green look sitting on yellow wheels but John deer sprung to mind......

There will be some more small updates over winter, nothing too special

Here's one thing, small but I like the small touches to things

So I'm smoothing my door bullets by hand and then il be wrapping them black then putting an overlay sticker il make for the car.

Enjoy

Yellow on green is awesome mate.

Reminds me off a photo of a cup car that inspired my love for Alien Green.

I still have the photo.

I love this, looks so good. Can't wait to see the door bullets. The John Deer look is a good look

loving it!

How much camber are you running at the back mate?

No idea it's a base set up atm as we're seeing how the car is on track. I'm hoping next year at some stage have one of Sean's drivers to take my car out to see where it can be improved. But really the car needs to be driven on track fairly hard to go from the base setup

Yeah I wanted to do yellow and green when I saw that car but was abit too John Deere lol. Just reminds me of them

Are the White speedlines for sale by the way?

No the white ones are my wet wheels now sorry

Thanks! Door bullets are being worked on, nothing special just smooth with a green logo on it or something similar with a black background

Yeah I'm swaying to keep the wheels yellow but I'm not sure it works with the theme I was going for

Small update,

Nothing major has happened, still smoothing my bullets to a smooth surface prior to wrapping and stickers on them. I've been working on blanks for the roof scoop if for road driving and starts raining to block it off.

Still spraying my wet wheels white, tempted just to keep my cupracer ones yellow.

Anyway I pulled the car out a little to get some more pics of it

That's about it for now, I'm a person who's always itching to do things and small mods so I always get an itch for doing things.
I've finally got around to having my exhaust sleeved correctly and will no longer be blowing

Another update,

So the scoop blank is spot on fitment. Really happy with it, tried driving with it and it's perfect and blanked the front and rear when I cleaned the car and no water inside of the car.

Stud kit works fine

More stickers

More parts to come

Cleaned and driven for the first time

Scoop Blanks fitted

Added a couple more stickers to the car, abit of a better view overall of the car.

First clean! After a catch up with kam and Joel. Hearing Kams Clio makes me want NA again however :worried:

So I finally got around to playing about with my wiring, pretty much a few days after building my car it had a braking fault and the other month I noticed melted plastic down my bulkhead. I saw some wires all melted and since then I just covered them up and put reflective tape.
Finally got around to chopping that wiring out and put new section in its place. As I hoped, it fixed my braking fault which I'm happy about, it didn't effect the car st all, it just beeped at me when I started it each time.

Here's the state of the wiring,

So as you can see it was heat damaged and some of the wires were split etc.

THIS YEAR:

so this year a couple of threads here along with talking to kam about it, I'm going to gather the parts I can from cupracers and basically try and build a hybrid car which is as close as I can get it to a cupracer apart from it being roadworthy. It probably would be cheaper to sell up and buy a cupracer which id love. However I'm a hands on guy when it comes to cars and I like building them.

So if anyone else can point me in the direction of parts is appreciate it. Again looking for bargains and not in a massive rush to collect the parts.

Good effort building your car to your spec rather than just buying one. Admire that! Hope it works out for you

you an me two for finding & collecting parts!

Have you got any contacts that maybe able to assist me?

Thanks, there has been many times when I think I should sell up and buy a cupracer but I think it's more fun building a car up to how I'd like.
Thanks, won't be a quick process but I'm going to try get it all before I take the car off the road for a full weld in cage and sell my SD cage

Nice work on the blanks, are you planning on selling those?

That's a tricky one, I'd like to sell them however I think every scoop is slightly different in terms of size.
One scoop could have more layers or needed a little more resin.

As they are push fit I think every one I do would have to be custom.

I could supply them slightly oversized to mine so all that's required is a tiny bit of sanding to the inner edge

UPDATE:

Cars changed a little since I last posted. Some behind the scenes photos. More track time.

First up was stud conversion

I ran 2500's which worked well but with the Meg engine I wanted to have abit more of a bite. So went for 1.11's. Kev @ Kamracing hooked me up once again in short notice

My car then went back to Sean to have the front end dropped some more.. on the way up to JadeDevelopments I managed to hit a pothole so much so it smashed the top bearing on my strut and bent my axle :worried:

So Sean replaced the bearing and lowered it by adding one of his road series kits to the top and bolting my adjustable topmount to that.

As for he rear beam well that was well out! So managed to pick one off from marc who had the white Clio on here. Thanks again, car sat allot straighter too

Sat nice after it all!
