Clio 197 Ultra Red 2007 from Finland. April, time to start driving.

Oh brilliant, even better!
Where do the self-leveling motors bolt onto? As I know when I did my mates Audi TT his went onto the wishbones.
Thanks for the reply
Normal halogen lights do not need any self leveling systems. Those are in Xenon (HID) systems only.

So much more modern looking at the front-end now. Really transformed it.
Major change Antti for not 'silly' money......
Thanks, yep those are great. In daylight even better.. In my opinion one of the best modifications for that money.

Projectors really finish off the front of our cars, give it that modern touch! Really good mod for 150 EUR.

What's next on the list?

I agree, all RS models should have projector lights as standard.
Hmm.. wheel painting, rear quarter panel painting.. driving!

This morning small front brake service..

There was 1 brake pad seized solid in both calibers. I have to use hammer and screw driver. Then i sanded caliber slide area clean and also took material off from end of brake pads. There was "roadhouse" brake pads installed.. whipii what a quality.
I decided in same minute i will replace front pads & discs. What do you say about mtec black coated discs which have grooves & holes? I will use oem brembo pads.

Here is picture of my caliber, both calibers pads stuck. I mean like welded.
There is now quite difference in pedal feel i have to say!.

yeah the brake service is a must..good job mate..
i praise the Mtec brand highly..i have dimpled and grooved ones on mine and they have been brilliant..just a heads up regarding their black coating..it doesnt last long..a few members have reported that the coat started peeling off after a few weeks..

As Pav has said, MTEC discs are great I've also got dimpled grooved front and rear and would definitely recommend them.

As also mentioned, save your money on the coating and buy some Hammerite and paint the hubs yourself as mine started to rust after less than 2 weeks...

Another vote for the MTEC discs, great upgrade/alternative to OEM.

Your good weather is very different to my idea of good weather  snow is a very bad day for me :excited: beautiful looking place you live in though Antti.

The weather might be nice Antti but what's all that white stuff!

I've got Brembo HC discs and don't have a problem with them other than the hubs getting rusty if not painted

Hi and thanks for your comments.

This time of year we do have 2 kinds of weather, this week has been +2 celsius and grey..but weekend we have nice crisp -celsius and lot of sunshine! And yes.. cars get really dirty when tempeature is +0 or more. Roads are like liquid salt.
I washed my clio just before i took those pictures yesterday.

This picture tells it quite well  . Text says "it is lottery win to born Finland"

Brakes:

Amazon: Brembo genuine front pads
Ebay.de: Brembo HC Coated line front discs.

Why? I have had brembo normal discs before in my cars and never had any problems. Price was "ok".. approx 100£ delivered for discs. Coated line is good, i dont have to paint discs. If paint is good from factory those would not rust.

Brake fluid..?
Ate Typ 200

Ok to mix with other brake fluids?
1 liter will be enough?

New summer tyres delivered.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Week 58/2016.

When summer tyre season starts, I will drive first 3-4 weeks with old continental spc3. Those still have 3mm thread.Roads are really bad condition after winter.
Winter alloys will go for refurb.
After those are painted, then michelin time for those alloys. Current summer alloys will be winter alloys. Maybe confusing  I hope you understand.

I'll be interested to hear how you rate the PS4s. I'm thinking about trying them myself.

Why not dot4

Dot 5.1 is superior than DOT4 if you look specs from wiki.
You can mix DOT 4 & DOT 5.1 fluids no problem. DOT 5.1 is suitable for my use as i dont drive in track many times per year.

Dry boiling point Wet boiling point Viscosity limit Primary constituent
DOT 2 190 °C (374 °F) 140 °C (284 °F) ? Castor oil/alcohol
DOT 3 205 °C (401 °F) 140 °C (284 °F) 1500 mm2/s Glycol Ether
DOT 4 230 °C (446 °F) 155 °C (311 °F) 1800 mm2/s Glycol Ether/Borate Ester
LHM+ 249 °C (480 °F) 249 °C (480 °F) 1200 mm2/s [6] Mineral Oil
DOT 5 260 °C (500 °F) 180 °C (356 °F) 900 mm2/s Silicone
DOT 5.1 260 °C (500 °F) 180 °C (356 °F) 900 mm2/s Glycol Ether/Borate Este

Yes i know but you can get dot4 with same or even better specs.. its pointless these days to use 5.1 instead of 4 .
Check out motul rbf600/660 dot4 .
