Espace spare wheel

Hi all

Will a 17 inch space saver from the Espace fit the 197? In desperate need for a spare wheel before the weekend....

I know it fits a Megane r26 as my friend bought one.

It should as a Renault Vel Satis spare does I got mine that way the difference is the the Vel Satis spare sits inside the car so is always rust free or not even used at all while the espace is under the car and normally rusted the tyre will be usable but slightly larger I think 185/65 17 to match the 197 tyre it needs to be a 175/55 17 but as a 185 it will work I test fitted to the front clears the callipers the tyre is close but works now that's on a standard ride height car without super low springs or spacers but if stuck and if the front is flat put the rear wheel on the front and the spare on the rear a little work but better than damaging the front wing or inner arch protectors if you are super low or driving hard with the spare on.

I think the 185 tyre is a near perfect size match the 18" Megane renaultsport wheels the difference is the 185 tyre is 2.3 cm taller than the std 215/45/17 197 tyre. Its a spare it will do the job until you fix the original tyre.

Ok, I have managed to get myself a Megane space saver 185/60/17, brand new tyre, £20 off eBay, bargain..
