Have both 197 and 200 gearboxes been troublesome or just the 197. Thanks

Both boxes (well 3 actually!) have been troublesome. TL4 003, TL4 024 and TL4 031

Yeah but I can fix that bit for £60's worth of parts................on the jc5 found in the mk2 rs' it's more like £380!

They put steel synchros in the 200s if I'm not mistaken - opposed to brass...

Yeah those steel synchros have a composite material on the friction surface and they never wear out at all. Ever. Honest. Flol!!

I find it really difficult to understand the logic behind it tbh. I can see where all the issues arise from in the f4r's, jc5's and TL4's mate. Some of it is just so simple, but for me to re-engineer would cost ££££'s as it would require individual items being made as one offs. Er, no.
