John's GW 200

Brilliant weather by the looks of things Johnny:sunglasses:
Glad you’re staying out of trouble!!
Yes this afternoon was fine, but this morning my 2nd session was delayed by fog. Not a long wait though & the track was dry unlike last time I was here when it poured down all day.

Glad you had a good time, even with an impromptu day off I was running around like a headless chicken all day preparing for yesterday.

Will keep an eye out to see when you're next down here and I'll come along.

Got a bit of a better idea about it all now, so hopefully I may be a little better prepared come the next time!

Ok with the upcoming Spa trip the credit card is busy! Planning the dreaded cam belt service before we go, plus changing brake fluid & possibly pads depending on what they're like. Ordered Powerflex engine mounts & replacement braided front brake lines. The previous braided lines had been badly routed & were rubbing on something & failed MOT so standard lines went on for quickness. New ones ordered are K-Tek that I understand are designed to fit in the original brake line clips so hopefully it won't happen again. The rears will probably end up being surplus, though I will hang on to them as spares.
The big money today though has gone in a wee treat for myself. Ordered some Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels in red with ET 50. Should fill the arches nicely without spacers & save some unsprung weight. Being made to order so approximately 6 weeks estimated delivery. Hopefully I will have them on for Spa. At least I don't have to tell my wife about them for a while!wp_ss_20180112_0001.png

They will look great with your decals John. Out of interest what brand were your old lines?

I got the old lines from Proline Motorsport on here, but the local Renault dealer fitted them when it was in for a service. I'm going to book the cam belt service at Rentec Auto care in Edinburgh, the independent specialist who fitted my Quaife diff so I will get them to put the new lines on at the same time.

I have been paying in to a life insurance policy for nearly thirty years that matures in April. It won't be a fortune, but my wife said I should use the money for something fun! We'll take a nice holiday, but the wheels are a bonus!

Awesome choice John. I’ve always liked the TD and they are very light! Will look epic on the car! What width did you go for? Will you be running different tyres on these wheels?

Sticking with 7.5j & will use the PS4 that are currently on the summer rims I have. I expect I will sell the Speedlines that the tyres are on at the moment. I have another set of Speedlines on the car just now with my winter tyres. Eventually I'll probably get some PS Cup 2 or AD08 on the TD rims, but the PS4 have only done around 1200 miles so it'll be a while

Yes John! GREAT decision on the wheels mate. That's going to look SO good on your car. As soon as I did that mockup a while back I thought it was a definite no brainer. Top TOP work mate.
