Key Card

Good Afternoon,

I have a 197 ff which has the key card. Since I have owned I have always bung the keys on the passenger seat and pressed the start button.

But now it cannot detect the key. It displayed that it needed a new battery today and so Ive put a new battery in.

But it still doesn't see the key unless its in the slot? I've also noticed it doesn't detect the button on the handle to lock the doors.

Tried my spare key and it works perfectly. So is it possibly a faulty key card or is there a programming trick?

Try a second battery, Ive been bitten by cheap battery’s and even expensive ones that have been faulty from new...

Can also get remote testers, they do infra red and also radio frequency efforts and will confirm the remotes transmitting, we had a sealed one at the garage... motor factors if they have one in should have battery’s on the shelf should you be able to find one, might even have one under the counter if you buy a battery from them
