Labour question

Hi people just a quick one for the ones who know:001_rolleyes:

I managed to get my hands on a cheap nearly new 200 cup suspension(10 plate 5kmiles) and I am very tempted (after getting a very good quote from Karl) to change the steering rack (quicker) and the antiroll bar (thicker) at the same time. The thing I don't know though is what is entailed for this upgrade labour wise. The parts brand new cost around £450 posted but I'd be dissapointed if they quote me loads for fitting:worried:

So, can you please provide me with some technical info? Thanks in advance!

what year is the cup suspension as they changed the shocks design on the newer 200 models, so wont fit 197s/ early 200s

Yes I am aware of that Ryan, thanks for letting me know anyway. It is early 2010 so it will fit without problem. I checked before buying.

Sell the car and buy one with the cup pack.

Well, thanks for your suggestion but all I'm asking here is some techical information prior to starting calling specialists for quotes. My car DOES have the cup pack (R27), but it's 4 years old, it's got 40k miles, I'm not looking for coilovers because I can not justify spending loads given that I don't do track days, I don't want to lower the car and I found a 200 cup suspension which is a) nearly new and b) better than the 197 cup one, for £120! For me that's a good upgrade.

Now, as I said, I'm trying to figure out if it's worth going for the rack and antiroll bar at the same time (haven't got the parts yet) given that they do make a difference apparently. If it's a big thing then I'll simply bottle it and go for just the suspension. Either or, I'm so not selling my R27. So in love with it:001_rolleyes:

springs and dampers are an "easy" job

the rack is a front subframe off job - replace rack refit and set the tracking - same for anti-roll bar

if your going to do it do the rack and struts/springs/dampers at the same time as its easier to change the fronts with the sub-frame off

Thanks a lot! Yes indeed,I was thinking to fit all of the parts together hence the question. Subframe off job then...that sounds like a big one,I think it's time to give some specialists a call. Thanks.
