So, it seems to be true at least for the UK. I also don't have white listed in the special edition overview but it turns out there are some white LHD ones existing. See the following link for example.

Just because white wasn't an option, it was gifted to a renault employee!

Never knew that! Have heard more than one story of Renault as an employer gifting things to their staff, breath of fresh air in this day and age..

Nah just the r27 - the 500th off the line was white.

I remember hearing that the r27 ly was the rarest one! Seems not form those figures.
