Matt's track/nurburgring RS250 Clio f1

So got my gaz golds and top mounts now and got round to fitting them last night....OMG, now I know what it's like working on these Renaults with the swivel hub bearings with my time with my megane but what a nightmare I had. Every nut and bolt was rusty and the torx bits rounded off so the track rod end required some persuasion with an angle grinder. I've ordered new track rod ends and anti rotation links which will be here tomorrow so I can crack on.6ee78088ca0454809974a49b9b3d630d.jpgdd781cbca9277ed97afb27a7eb6f04bb.jpg73d83eda73f26801333e2229ecb9c71e.jpg

little tip in case you need to do track-rods or anti-rotation links in the future - don't use torx bits, instead put vice grips on the back of them, then undo the nut with a socket. They 100% come straight out, never had one need cut off yet.

very wise advice :thumb:

Also little tip with the top mounts, move the allen key bolts over one, the hidden ones (if that is the camber you will be running).

Had to do the same on my E36.

Cars coming along great, it's going to be a weapon!

That just for ease of change and adjustment?

Yep, some people just remove the other 2, but seeing as it's held by friction, you want to spread the load a little bit more than 2 bolts.

So after waiting for my track rod ends and anti rotation links to arrive since Friday they finally turned up meaning I could crack on with the suspension. Got the camber set on max which was too much so dropped it back, I'll do some testing with different settings once in track. Rears of course didn't go to plan when I found one of the bolts was basically a perfect circle so got that out and replaced. Still need to do front left (all stripped down just needs putting back together) then brake lines and then losing the runners and bolting my seats straight to the frames.

I now have an r26 throttle body to mate to my 250 inlet to hopefully cure the throttle loss I have when I come to a standstill. I have a 250 plug of course so would need to change the plug. Any info on the wiring etc would be fantastic

So finally had time to sort the suspension etc out so got it all fitted along with braided lines with rbf660 fluid. Just waiting for my adapter plate for my 225 throttle body then it's off for geo and we are good to for track day next week. Excuse the state of it the alley to my garage is a state. (All being tarmaced soon)2860b53f7c459c39d33ff0bcb7856181.jpgb504df04e5c9c33c10332d3b85ca7927.jpgab0d371d721accb1b3d1b791afaef836.jpg

Strangely I love the look of the Allegritas when the car is sitting lower like that, but less so at 'normal' height as I think they tend to look to small.
Car looks great though.

So whilst waiting for the adaptor plate I've very quickly done over the paint on the old girl as it was in absolutely shocking shape....now I need to figure out what order the wires need to go converting from 250 plug to 225 plug if anyone knows?

Unfortunately I'm no electrician so this means sod all to me
