Photography advice?

Looking for some advice/tips on how to take better pictures, I have recently bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28, its has lots of advanced features and apparently is a good camera to learn more advanced Photography on. I have read the manual a bit but doesn’t seem to tell me the advantages or disadvantages of certain settings, For example shutter priority, exposure.
So basically am after and good website, YouTube video or just some tips off the pros on here? I have looked on the web but theres just so much on it can't seem to find any good ones...Can anyone help me out?
Cheers

Just practice.
Get a tripod to get the best from it. A cheap 1 will do the job.
Take the same pic with different settings.
Slow shutter speeds are good for darker places. You get good pictures without useing the flash. I don't think I've actually ever used my flash.

As already said just experiment with different settings and a tripod is a must for sharp pics unless you have plenty of light.

Nice 1 will check that out just now, the above links have been helpful to. Just not had a chance to get a pic session as yet.
