Hi Lee, welcome to the forum. They aren't so much a nightmare, it's more the fact that the belts are best being done by a specialist with the correct tools. Most garages could handle the work, but with it being such an important thing, you'd be better off with someone who knows the cars well.

I personally don't know of anyone in the NE, but someone from the region will be able to help

Thanks for such a fast reply I'm a mechanic/mot tester anyhow but just don't fancy doing it my self is all.

And once I get the car detailed up to scratch I'll start a build thread

Depending on where exactly in the north east you are you could try DTM Cars. They're a specialist based in Newcastle.

Or if you're happy to drive a bit there's ALS in Carlisle. Or there's a few around Leeds/Yorkshire area.

I'm based in Sunderland work in durham... don't mind travelling at all as long as I'm getting good quality work and not having my eyes took out I work in motortrade and know what places are like

Renault parts direct sell the Renault genuine timing tools needed I bought them £150 and gave them to my Dealer Renault Tech guy to use so the job would be as easy as possible for him and since he has bought a 182 Clio he has them now to do his own car.

If you're prepared to travel to a garage, then there is RS Tuning in Leeds, and also RS Murray's. Further south, there's Bolsover Car Care, which is where I'll be getting mine done.

Or as Turkie suggests, if you can get hold of genuine tools, that opens up some more options.

Just to but in, my car has 60k miles, doing the belt in December, is it only the belt needs replaced or at this milage what other things associated with the belt change should be took into consideration if they need changing or not, ie while your that far sort in of speek.
