Facelifting a 197?

Hi guys, been looking at getting a 197 recently, but I love the look of the 200 (they're very slightly out of my price range for a FF with Recaros and cup pack).

I think that it's just a case of swapping the headlights and front bumper at the front, and the diffuser at the back, but can anyone confirm this?

I know the 200 body panels won't be that cheap, but it'll no doubt be cheaper than spending out on a 200..

Any opinions/advice appreciated :thumbsup:

The front end of the 197 is so much better looking IMO. So many people have put 197 front ends on their 200s. Never the other way around lol.
 
Why would you spend ££££'s to make the 197 look f*cking retarded?

Put the money into making it have more go. Cams or boost (225 conversion) and LSD would be my choice.
 
Id just save up for a bit longer tbh mate or just buy a 197 and stick it on a country road, you'll soon forget about the looks
 
i dont think its a straight swap.. someone put a 197 on a 200, and im pretty sure it was a bit of work, not just bolt on.. im sure someone will come along with a link.. :smile:

I can recall only 1 person mutilating a 200 by putting that God awful 1.6 looking nose on a beautiful 200.

However, a fair few more have done it the other way to make their 197's stand out from the Clio masses. :wink:

When the clios changed in 2009 i remember the cup teams just having the lights and bumper to upgrade the front, i belive it's just a bolt on thing.

Slightly bonkers though, spoiling a 197 like that.

I really wasn't keen on the 200 front end when it came out, but now I think it makes the 197 look hugely dated.

I think the 1*2's have dated better than the 197's tbh. Give it a few years I'm sure the 200's will date just as badly.

My problem with the 197 is from the front, they just look like a normal clio.

The 197 looks so much more agressive.

Must be that extra 200 lb/ft of torque the 200 has that makes all the difference eh :wink:
 
Post above ^ congrats on finding the ugliest photo of a 200 possible. I had a 197, 200 is far better looking. Generic photo off of google of how a green 200 should look..

The 197 is starting to look quite dated, in all honesty when I see one out on the roads I have to look at it in my rear view mirror to work out if its an RS...
 
I agree, thats a very nice 197 & a awful picture of a 200.

That 197 is also modified and lower 197's look more agressive anyway.

It's also that awful bumper / light alignment on the front end - meh i'm strange.

I own an R26 with a fat arse ffs :wink:

Piss easy to get it looking like that. Right spec to start with (Xenons), lower, anthracite / carbon badges and (possibly) spacers.

Job done.

Just no f*cking way the 1*2s look less dated than the 197 - have a f*cking word :wink:
