iPhone 7

Bad cop
Funnily enough, was 2 years ago since a thread was last created in this forum, and it was by me, about the iPhone 6 lol.

Anywho, the new iPhone 7 has been launched, anyone going to get it?

I had intended too, but for the price, and whats actually different, I don't think its worth upgrading, so I'm holding off another year which is when the anniversary iPhone is supposed to be announced!

My sister preordered the 7+ and after looking at the dual camera i'd love to upgrade to one from my 6... but would rather spend that sort of money on recaros instead tbh

The dual camera does look really good agreed, but lets not forget, the camera in the 6+ is also great (is what I have also) I have taken some really awesome shots with it.. Aside from the camera, and waterproofing, slightly faster, theres really not a lot of difference for me to justify changing.

Recaros gets my vote for you also @DS197

Im due an upgrade soon on my company phone (Currently got a 6).

With my job, and the size of the current batch; im more likely to get a 5-SE to be honest. More than enough for my needs, which dont include carrying around a mini-tablet day-in day-out.

TBH though - i dont even know what the 7 is all about and havnt read anything about it as yet. Is it revolution or just evolution ?

It's easy to get carried away with these launches and I was throwing insults and comments at the computer as we watched the launch live last week. Talk about recycling the old stuff! However, the camera does appeal to me very much, I'm very creative darling!
As @sevenfourate mentions, I'd say that it's worth getting next year's revolution than this year's evolution.
I'm more than likely to upgrade my current 6 to a 6S Plus and use that for a year before seeing what's in store.
My friend has a Samsung S7 and it is epic, but I just can't get on with the UI ☹️

Evolution very much so I'm afraid....

Apparently from what I've heard/read, next year is where its at, Ceramic housing, wireless charging, new display etc etc. Which it what I was hoping for with the 7 tbh, but its a let down.

I'm actually more interested in the Watch Series 2 but that's because I'm trying to be trendy moving into the tech sector :tongueout:

Ordered the gloss black 7 plus the morning it was released ... "Ships November"

Looking forward to getting it though... only disappointment really is lack of wireless charging. Come on Apple, Android have had wireless charging for years now!

I'm generally a cynic when it comes to these things, so I see another new iPhone (that is barely different from the last one) as Apple being greedy money-grabbers... Then again, if people will happily hand over hundreds of pounds every year for a slightly different handset, why not milk it for all it's worth...

As I saw on Instagram this morning:
'£800 for an iPhone 7?? I hope Airplane Mode gets me to ****ing Miami!'

I'm due an upgrade so ordered a Matt black iPhone 7 yesterday. £149 up front and £40.99 a month. Tidy
They also giving me £100 trade in for old 5S so happy bunny.
Same monthly payments as before and a shiny new phone.
What's not to like??

What data, minutes texts etc you get with that and who with?

Jeez that sounds alot. But i'm out of touch i guess.

5 of us have iphone 6's or 6+'s at work which we got at same time from Vodaphone.

We are uncapped on everything and its right around £30 a phone per month.

The price of fashion

Good move from discontinuing the 16GB handsets and making them 32GB minimum... I'm constantly weighing up music/photos and everything else (not to mentioning finding 1GB spare for iOS10 which bricked my phone for an hour last night, HA!)

I cant judge yet but I'd probably prefer the 5SE over the 7 in terms of sizing @sevenfourate, but that's only because I have a 6S now and find that it's too big for my midget like hands! My college at work has one and I prefer it over my 6! The AirPods seem like a great idea until you see the retail price at £159... bit of a luxury item!

I feared about the lack of headphone jack, but at least Apple have come up with a somewhat suitable solution! Life wouldn't be the same without the Aux cable in my car!

Might be a bit high fair point

But I've dropped £1500 on my 10 year old Renault in the last 8months and haven't stopped spending yet!!

Which one is money wasted lol

^^^ Sounds like you've got a good one from that. lol

I did over £3k in 2 months after initial purchase in my "Welcome to Renault ownership initiation phase'. Still got cambelt/dephaser/aux belts to do in very near future. But we are on this Planet for our own happiness ultimately right ? And if these are what float your boat.........

*********I still cant quite get my around £40+ a month for a phone though. Have to say if i didnt have a work phone paid for: i'd have an iphone 5 on Giffgaff or similar.

I work hard for my money always have and now I'm a bit older I can indulge in a little playtime with a hobby/love that I've always had.

Each to their own
