Anyone for a nova ?

My first car was a 1.3 Nova SR, loved it, brown tartan seats! I wanted one of these, but couldn’t afford the insurance.

I can’t imagine there are many of these left now.

Hated Nova's back in the day...but like the look of that. Looks immaculate.

I'll check my savings account:grinning:

Funny, my insurance was cheaper on the sport, than on a SR or GSI

Funny I was talking to my friend about this last night, hes a Nova head and yes its a very rare car indeed finding the 'correct' parts for these is a major task, having seen one fully restored a few years back at the NEC it really is a thing of beuty and im not a nova fan never had one.

Had a Nova SR back in '85 & never really gelled with it so sold it 18 months later. A week after I placed the order this sport edition was announced, but dealer wouldn't let me change my order. Never mind as I wouldn't have kept it. My wife too had a Nova briefly years before we met & hated it. Should've learned a lesson, but bought an Astra GTC in '02 as a 2nd car & we both loathed that too! Never buying another Vauxhall (unless someone offers me a very cheap VX220 track toy)!

nice rare motor but not £65k worth...think what you could get with that 65k

Couple of years of early retirement.
Half a mortgage paid off for some people.
Nice car and £50k in savings.
Or some metal that's much more serious than a Nova.

And the auction hasnt actually finished yet of course either....

Looks like plenty of serious bidders too. I dont see any 0-rated shill-bidding at the sharp-end.

TBH I don't see it going for anything like this money. Gimme a nice Porsche over that any day!

Looking at the guys feedback seems he as over rated some of his cars he sold previously, plus the RS Fiesta looks expensive to....hmmm

Holy moly i wasn't even born then :fearscream:

When i was a nipper Novas were everywhere i never see them anymore. Being in classic cars i can tell you that a car is worth whatever anyone is prepared to pay on the day the price does go down as well as up...looks like this is a good day for the owner.
