Newbie from Cheshire/ Staffordshire (viewing 197 cup tomorrow)

Hi all I'm new to the forum. Fast approaching 40 and a very long string of various cars later I find myself looking at a 197 cup tomorrow to replace my trusty 320d msport.

My first car was a 1.2 Clio (I wrote it off somehow) and a couple of years ago I owned a tarmac prepped blueprinted 182 cup which was stripped out and dialed in well. A few laps of blyton in a stock 197 on ad08r sparked my interest in revisiting French cars again so here I am.

Hello all!

Well good luck and remember the timing belt change 5 years or 72,000 miles people on here bought one before the dealer said the belts were done turned out the person that traded in lied. You need proof as it's an expensive dealer job to do and can take great value on and off a car, receipt of work, or parts the original belts will have Renault logos on it but impossible to check without going through the motions of changing it.

6 years 62,000 miles a genuine factory belt will have the Renault logo genuine replacement belts will not the guy with the broken belt had the logo so he knew it was never changed he still lost an engine and had to cover it himself. And there is a knack to changing them so a Renault specialist or dealer is an advantage. Other than that the gearbox and the normal things look at the flexis for condition can be seen from engine bay a bit of a job but not extremely difficult to fix but a subframe out job.

Sorry for the newbie question but I've spent ages looking through Q&A to no avail. How do i view adverts in the classifieds? Is it post count or moderator approval or paid members only?

Thanks in advance

You need to be a paid member to do that mate, it's as little as £5 for the year for standard membership or £20 for gold & £40 for lifetime premium. (If I remember correctly)

Lol well that's a double whammy right enough haha but welcome to the members area, all areas are available now, excluding the gold & platinum members area but I don't think there's much in there that's not available to us standard area dudes lol. Check the for sale area, the traders area & the how to area, that's especially good for its knowledge base.
