I have owned a fair few Renaultsports in my time and was going to have a look through the classifieds on here.

It seems stupid you have to be a paid member to see the cars for sale. Feel like that’s going to massively reduce the audience for the advert.

I understand it for the parts. But cars?

It's only £5 for basic membership. Allows you to see How To guides as well as the For Sale section.

It also keeps this great forum up and running for everyone..

i think the main reason for this is to attract more members and keep them coming back..
im sure if you ask our members, they will tell you that it was a best fiver they have ever spent (including a young Ben above) :thumb:

I used to be a paid member for many years.

Just come back on to have a nosey and see if there were any nice ones for sale.

I understand it’s only a fiver. But then to have anyone come on and buy a car on here makes sense. Then I am sure if they do they will pay the £5

Mental. £5 to look at cars for sale. Never been on a car forum that made you pay to view such a basic thing. The guides and resources I can see why. But the for sale section. What a joke.

The membership charge applies just as much to sellers as to buyers of cars and parts - it costs people money to advertise their things on other sites, so the same applies on this forum.

There is absolutely no obligation to pay any fee whatsoever to use the forum - it is totally optional. If however someone is serious about buying a member-owned car, £5 is literally a very small price to pay....

What a great first post! You're going to really fit in well with an attitude like that.

Do you know how much effort the admin team put in to run this place? Completely without any renumeration.
Do you know how much it costs to run somewhere like this? To pay for the hosting and bandwidth usage of 10.5k members?

To find the right car, the price of a pint is a ridiculously small price to pay. Worked for us. And many others.

Maybe you're in the wrong place and you'd be better as suggested above looking at the plethora of tat on eBay? Rather than the properly organised, clear, searchable resource we have here full of members cars that have been cherished and loved rather than used and abused.

It would be worth a fiver just to have a look at them, let alone if you ended up buying one. Ever bought a car magazine? How much was that?

My GOD some people.

Ps. If a fiver is a bit of a stretch for you, I think the Clio might be the wrong car for you! Maybe have a look at VW or something

Oi, nothing wrong with VW's :german:
Oh, and I do get paid for this, just don't tell the others :thumb:

im sure everything has been said already.you are more than welcome not to pay but as mentioned above, the cars that are for sale on here have (most of the time) a progress thread behind them to back up whatever the seller is telling you..

and as above ,this is a car forum with the bonus of having a chance to sell/buy..

hope that helps

Ahhh, so that's why you can afford to kill one car and immediately buy a new one!

And nothing wrong with VW at all, just... you know, if you can't afford a fiver, maybe Clio maintenance isn't for you...

I am not going to fit in at all. I can't even buy one from the site without paying a £5. The admin team should put the time in for the love of it like so many other forums. You may have 10.5k members but how many are really active... I would look at something VW but tbh for a cheap track car, I am not going to find much. The Clio is the cheap end of the track market which is why I came here. Just a shame you can't see what is about before you commit. Now now ///M try to take your face out the ass of the admins for a sec.. I said I can see why you would pay for the resources of the website but not the for sale section. I clearly wasn't asking for everything to be free. I am glad this has struck a nerve with a few people it might get some much-needed changes talked about.

It was nice that Pav took the right path and posted things straight up and took the good cop admin routine. GG WP HF
