    H&R Spring alternatives

Eibachs are sounding like a potential winner.. are you both talking about the pro-kit? Also, Sevenfourate - are you using the springs on cup or non-cup dampers?

    H&R Spring alternatives

Thanks for the reply. I don't suppose you've had/been in a car with H&R's to compare the two have you?

    H&R Spring alternatives

Hi All, My 200 currently has H&R springs but it's just too firm for me. I like the amount of drop they give, but not how firm they are. Does anyone have any alternatives to suggest that give a similar drop but are not as firm? Cooksports, Eibachs etc? The car does have cup dampers on...

    200: Brakes working poorly

So on Saturday I took the old pads out, gave the calipers a good clean and stuck some new pads in (Brembos), and the brakes feel a whole lot better! The pistons were perfectly free, nice and easy to push back in, so I think the seals in the calipers are fine. I'm still not sure if the brakes are...

    200: Brakes working poorly

Good shout, thanks buddy. I plan on giving all 4 corners a check this weekend to try and work out what's what. Is there any chance that this could be ABS related? Or would that cause different symptoms?

    200: Brakes working poorly

There's a pretty detailed how-to for the caliper rebuild here mate - https://www.clio197.net/threads/front-caliper-rebuild.32384/

    200: Brakes working poorly

Thank you for all of the replies and advice - much appreciated! I'll start with checking the pads/giving them and the disks a good clean. I may well also replace the pads as they're over 2 years old now anyway. If that doesn't work I'll get the calipers serviced.

    200: Brakes working poorly

Thanks mate. If the pistons are sticking is it just a case of cleaning the calipers and replacing the seals?

    200: Brakes working poorly

Hi All, Hoping for some guidance with an issue I'm having on my 200. I've owned the car since October and over the last few months I've noticed that my brakes are getting progressively worse. When braking there is a fair bit of travel in the pedal and no real bite, and if I come off the...

200: Akropovic system - far too loud?!

Checked the manifold when I got the car back last night and can confirm that it is standard. At a bit of a loss with the exhaust. It's not so much the noise when cruising as that's sort of bearable, it's just when I want to drive normally around town, going through the gears at anything above 3k...

200: Akropovic system - far too loud?!

Perfect, cheers mate. Will have a look when I get the car back.

200: Akropovic system - far too loud?!

Interesting. You must be right about the different phones different readings. It is crazy that you say you can only hear your exhaust at 70mph, I've forgotten what that's like! Unfortunately the car's still at the garage so I can't check the manifold at the moment. I did have a look down there...

200: Akropovic system - far too loud?!

Yeah it'd be good to know everyone's just for a reference. If they all come back being similar, then it may be like Bedoef says and it's subjective, with others happy enough to deal with it being this loud. My old 182 had the Scorpion RS192 system fitted and this is much louder than that. I've...

    Ball joint.

I'm not 100% sure yet, the mechanic is currently trying to source a non-genuine one as Renault charge an extortionate amount for them apparently. Once I have a price I will let you know, and I'll try and find out where he found it. I've not actually heard of this happening before, but I have...

    Ball joint.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, mine is currently in the garage having the ball joint done, and the mechanic said it was so far gone that it almost fell out when he was removing it, and when fitting a new one it was really loose in the housing meaning a new housing is required. Just a...
