    Sooo... just test-drove a 220 Trophy AGAIN

The Clio 197/200 is more of an old school hot hatch, as said above a 'dying breed'. They don't and won't make them like that ever again. Look at the new Civic Type R. It's just lost something and while it's a very capable car I don't think it would excite me like my old one did. Times move on...

    New Woman only car park

Haha the sexism is off the scale with that one... but I like it!

197: Moving on from the 197

Cheers, I'll pop on from time to time mainly to see if anyone ends up with my old car. Not sure where it'll end up as it's just being traded in to a main VX dealer in Bolton so quite likely end up at auction or something. Someone is going to get an alright deal though as it's had the belts, pump...

197: Moving on from the 197

Well after owning my 2007 Clio 197 for just over a year the time has come to part ways. It's a fantastic car when your in the mood but my commute has increased and it's just bleeding money on fuel. Plus with the age it's at now I just worry about how reliable it's going to be going forward...

    The Grand Tour

I quite liked it me, it will be interesting to see what direction it goes in and how they develop it. They did do a hell of a lot of stuff over the years on Top Gear so I agree it will be a challenge to try to keep it fresh. I'm actually glad they can't do some of the old stuff like that star in...

    In need of lower balljoints

They're about £70-£80 each iirc and your best replacing both sides at the same time. It's a big job and lots of other stuff has to come off to change them, so the labour costs can add up quite a bit. If your near a place called Aarons Autos in Derby they do them for £175 a side with a 12 month...

    Wheel Nuts

Same with mine, I've seen a few on eBay but some come with the floating collars and others don't. So not sure which ones are the right ones. Some state they are only for after market wheels and not suitable for standard while others it doesn't really differentiate.

    Gearbox Noise

Yeah, I might just do what I can to try eek as much life out of it as I can. Change the box oil, bleed the brakes/clutch and see if I can adjust/grease the linkages. Not likely to get rid of the noise but it's something I can live with so long as it doesn't get too bad and doesn't affect the...

    Gearbox Noise

Noticed a noise on my Clio the other day. When cruising at speed, say 60/70mph there is a slight bearing type noise that goes if you press the clutch in. Not sure how long it's been there as I usually have music on and I've only noticed it recently because my commute has changed and I'm spending...

    The Tv show thread!

The older stuff I like tends to be more comedy based so things like... Blackadder Monty Pythons Carry on films Early Red Dwarf Mr Bean Beadle's About Use to enjoy Brookside too which is strange for me, can't stand soap stuff usually but I enjoyed that. Had Jennifer Ellision in it too which was...

    What grinds your gears?

^ I would NOT be getting in the car with someone who can't hold a conversation and drive at the same time! That's well bad lol. When I had my test I remember the examiner actively talking with me having a conversation about various things I guess in a way to test if I could drive OK with...

    Food shopping..

That's EXACTLY why they do it, re-merchandising it's called. They get plans down from head office about exactly where to move things and even how to lay it out on the shelves. It's all done on computer designed to take you past certain high value and popular items. It's why in most supermarkets...

    Food shopping..

McDonalds used to use a similar trick with the deco in their restaurants, being the same harsh yellow and red of their logo. Designed to attract people in like insects to a flame but not exactly comfortable to sit in and eat lol.

    Food shopping..

Tesco online for my monthly bulk and non-perishable shop. Morrison's for my top up shops as it's only round the corner. I have tried the local Aldi once or twice but I wasn't that impressed with it. Both times the fruit and veg I bought went off very quickly, talking a couple of days at the...
