Great chance today to contribute to good causes and get a shakedown of the latest changes at Golspie track n show at the sprint circuit there. Met up with another few Renaultsport owners which was cool one of which kindly sent me this picture. It was a really well run event with hour long...

few more pics of changes, the front bumper weighs a lot stock, which is weight hanging out Infront of the front tyres, so all the plastics in the large mouth area are gone, and i've trimmed the bumper a bit, replaced with some mesh, and some abs sheet to reduce the size of the opening, quite...

With 1121 as the starting point when it was last weighed with around 17-20kg of fuel (was showing half a tank. My notes aren't great but the main things I've done to reduce weight are: 1. Dashboard stripped to a single skin and remove plastics around the steering column, around 6.5kg 2. Rear...

Yeah no probs I’ll do a post tonight when I can get to my pc and notes. I made a choice not to cut into the body or go fibreglass etc, partly on cost and mostly on making sure I had covered all other options before resorting to that. The engine is stock internally but with a lighter flywheel...

I haven’t cut any of the metal inside other than the unused brackets, there still a couple to come out which are those above the fuel tank. When I had it weighed before at 1121 I still had things like full dashboard and a passenger seat. Lots of little things have been done, I’ve kept notes of...

Been six months or there about, not much done over winter whilst my wife got her business up and running, but motivated by a potential shot on the nearest sprint circuit this weekend I got set in to get the latest round of changes complete. I've been chipping away at it over the last few weeks...

looks great did you re-use any of the existing heater wiring or just tap in to the power and ground fresh with a switch?

The clio is off the road whilst the brake calipers are sent off to be rebuilt, so i'm cracking on with some other jobs, one of which may be of interest to others. I had originally intended to use an arduino to get canbus info and display it on a small display, but when thinking about it...

Thankfully I can now turn my attention away from the family car the Q7, fresh MOT and near 400BHP of twin turbo diesel V8 goodness put to bed for the next while. Focus is back on the Clio. The 16 x 8 inch wheels are now on, ET25, no spacers and fits fine, fronts only, the rears are 16 x 7...

Was setting up my camera's as something to do in the middle of some upgrades for the Q7, and getting my wife's new workplace ready, and recorded an acceleration vid of the Clio on a nice flat bit of private road I have access to, the camera's built in mic cant handle the noise. I need an...

Not much going on at the moment as i've been waiting to get through the MOT, put it in on monday and it failed on a corroded brake pipe, the long one that runs across the rear beam. It looked fine apart from where the pipe sat in the clips where the paint had stripped and the pipe had swollen up...

KW V3 rear adjuster question, possibly seized?

Managed to free off the rear adjusters, was a lot of dirt packed in around the knob. So liberal amounts of gt85 and a pick got it out, then a blast of shock spray with some gentle back and forth with grips and I have bump adjustment again. My spine is grateful!

Been looking back over the graph's and its crazy how bad the AFR get's after 2500rpm until it clears up around 3000-3500rpm, its not a problem on circuit as you are never really in this area, but it does make you look a bit of a fool pulling out a junction sometimes.. but its all good I had a...

have made some small progress since last update. Weight is down to around 1080kg and working on taking some more out. The alloy seat mount has held up fine to all manner of driving situations and remains completely rigid which is good. Gave the engine and gearbox an oil change with some...
