£80 for front bumper removal?

Thanks for the advice fellas. I went to SJ today and the guy I dealt with was a nice chap - a 182 owner himself.

He mentioned someone with a rubbish nimbus 197...

Said he lives in Wordsley...

Said his plate ended with "RAW" or something...

Yeah, he said he was a right 'en!...

...

.......

Yeah, I printed it out and had it to hand... I couldn't do it. I'm not practical like that haha. Every time I try and mod my car, something goes wrong.

I chipped my bonet just tatting with my wipers.
I lost a piece of metal inside my door when fitting the wind deflectors.
I broke a front grill trying to remove it.

I'm surprised I didn't blow the car up fitting my wheel nut covers.

I'm bloody useless at this DIY shiz.

I started doing this bumper on Saturday and I could see it going wrong so put the tools down before I regretted it. I think I also lack the correct tools for the job.

I can make you a website using nothing but notepad and help your business make loads of money.

But give me a car and a spanner and you're asking for a mess.

The best bit of advice I could give you is to always have the right tools for the job. I'd never done any work of my own in ten years of car ownership. But since I got the 197 have done my own oil change twice, fitted new pads and discs front an rear as well as changing the front bulbs more times than is healthy! Basically don't let being a novice put you off . But none of the above would have been possible without having decent tools to get the job done. First thing I did was buy a sixty piece ratchet set, have since added a trolley jack set, breakers bar and winding tool for brake calipers . Yes costs money but found most for bargain prices on eBay and the fact you save money from paying through the nose at garages soon makes up for it , plus you still own the kit and it is satisfying to learn to know your car and know that you have done the job properly. Plus all the forum members are on hand to help if you
Bugger up completely !

Cheers for the advice man! Makes perfect sense.

Seriously though, he did mention that he worked on a nimbus 197 with a plate that read "raw" and said the owner was from Wordsley. Nothing about your prolific spamming though haha.
