Bumper not flush with wing

I have this on mine just haven't had the time to try fixing it. The "clip" is pretty rubbish it consists of a wedge shape on the wing, and a square hoop on the bumper which is meant to lock over the wedge once the bumper is pushed back into place. After a few heavy handed people take the bumper off it looks as though the wedge wares down and the hoop bends a bit and the two never really lock together again.

My plan is to get a small flat L shaped bit of plastic and glue it onto the corner of the wedge. Obviously rough the surface up a bit, clean it, decent plastic cement to stick it on. And with any luck a bit more distance and a sharp corner will mean it'll lock together again.

They are moulded. The shouldn't be stuck with any glue, what happens when you need to remove the bumper to fit new bulbs??!

Anyway, with my old 197 I simply heated up the two cut out loops on the bumper with a heat gun, the hoop bits that clip round the clips on the wings get mishapen inwards. (anyone have a pic of the bumper clips so I can explain might be handy?!)

So they just need re adjusting/pulling out with some heat, let them cool down, refit bobs yer uncle. I never had any issues after this.

Fixed this on our car this weekend gone.

Removed inner arch cover - removed one bolt fixing bumper to wing- sprung bumper out a little way - covered wing with sheet and then placed a paint scraper between wing and bumper to hold out and deflect heat.

Then with a screwdriver deforming the clip on the bumper applied hot air gun until I could smell plastic - held for 15 seconds and now clip stand up a few mill and clips into wedge on wing solidly

I have this issue too, going to try the method of propping the headlights up. Good old Renault design at it again!

I have this problem and was just about to post asking the exact same thing. I remember when Woody first saw my car the first thing he said was "bloody bumper clips have gone." Went to Renault - they were absolutely useless! Think I will try Sims way. Do you literally just need to wedge the rail down a touch? Never had my bumber off so not sure how it works?!

if it was me i would take the front arch liner out on that particular side, check the bolt isnt loose or incorrectly tighten out of position or even missing. if all else fails i would say cable ties are you best friends and easily removable/replaced when taking the bumper off.
