197 (std) Newbie

Hello
Last thursday i bought a racing blue 197 , can't pick it up until a week monday :nope: but looking forward to it already, it's standard apart from a few badge alterations.

In your opinion what is the best mod for track use, either a tyre upgrade to say Yokos AD48 ( that's their road/sport tyre not their R888 equivalent ?) or coilovers - Spax RSX seem good value at the moment. It's on Toyo TR 1's at the moment.

Apart from the occasional track day this is going to be used for
1. School Run (6 miles in the morning)
2. Weekend running around
3. Odd trip upto to Manchester to see my folks

Couldn't load a picture but will work on that

welcome to the site mate

coilovers are a great start a few people on here have spax fitted so will be able to offer you some more advice on them

smiler
thanks for that, would be interested to hear what different spring rates people are running or do they just come with a std set up ?......i took all the trim out of my e30 track car and the back sits right up with a KW sport set up, want to avoid that if i go down the mod route with the Clio

im not sure on the spring rates mate, although im pretty sure they can get setup for you for how you want

Welcome to the club

Go for the tyre upgrade first imo, see how you find the standard suspension setup first before deciding on coilovers, cup or h&r/eibach springs and dampers could be a cheaper alternative..
