From a Megane to a Clio?

Anyone comes from a 225 to a 197/200?
I recently traded in my mint 172 for a Meg 225 with lux pack and mapped to 260bhp. The Meg is a very quick car and handles well, but after owning it for 6 weeks i really started to miss my Clio!
So now i started to look at the 197/200, and just wanted to know if anyone on here sold their Meg RS for a Clio 197/200, but NOT for financial reasons just because the Clio is way more fun to drive! I also prefer the looks of the 197/200

I've gone from a 200 to a 250cup Meg just love it did miss the clio a first but did a trip to Spa and the ring in the meg that changed my mind just press the sport button on the ESP and have Fun

I've been to the nurburgring few weeks ago, but as it was my bachelor party i didn't planned it myself and didn't go with my Meg, but my mates arranged me a Meg 265 which is in another league compared to mine! I will own a 265 in the future, what a fantastic car!
The 200 must be a good car when you own a 250 cup meg and still missed it!

I have gone from a megane r26 stage 2 tune (280 bhp) to a clio 200 cup.

The megane obviously had more grip and outright pace but yes the clio is more fun to drive and the handling is alot more adjustable.

I would say that as an overall package the megane is the better car if you drive it everyday as its bigger, and the extra torque seems to make it feel more refined. When you are "on it" though the clio wins every time, more engaging to drive.

i run a 265 and 200.

i understand what your saying but day to day the meg is far easier to live with.

I went from 197 to my R26, but missed my 197, so ended up getting a 182 as my toy as well as keeping the meg. Never had the 197 on track, but Stuie who runs the 182 with me, loves the fun and rawness of the 182 on track, the 197/200s are more forgiving is the way Stu sort of describes it me, more polished at what it does

The meg is much easier to live with day to day as Mentalpen says tho

Well my Meg is my daily driver, but so was my 172. The main reason i traded my 172 in for the Meg was the fact that i got a nice price for my Clio, but now i really start to miss it. My daily driver don't need to a big car, but a fun hot hatch is what i want. I do love the power and at stage 1 it is fast, but the whole 'experience' is what makes the Meg a bit dull. And space isn't necessary needed as the only one who joins me everyday in the car is my Staffie, i've never driven or even been in a 197/200 but every car magazine or review is writing only good things bout em!
Oh and maybe the most important thing....the Recaro's !!! ;-)

197/200 is a vastly different experience to that of a 1X2. You loose that raw driving experience of a crap 1990s French car (no offence anyone, I've owned them).

A 200 with cup chassis is also a massive improvement over a 197 with cup chassis.

Can't comment on going between a meg/Clio, all I can say is if you don't live to far your welcome to have a go in my 200

Thanks for the offer Stevoox, maybe i could make a mini holiday and combine in with a test drive! Or when you come to the nurburgring, PM me and we meet there, only a 1h 45min drive for me

Ideally the 197 would be as fun as a 1x2, but with a little more space inside, oh and did i mentioned....the RECARO's lol

A meg in a Clio would be the ultimate weapon, but first i need a Clio and if i'm bored of the revy engine then maybe a engine swap, but i do love the sound of ITB's so that would be an idea too

Thanks again for the reply's!

I came from a stage 2 meg to the Clio 200.
Both are heavily modded n both are great cars but a different driving experience for sure.
My Clio with the quaife diff seems to get more pull/traction (insert your favourite word) than my mate in his std r26 and keeping the Clio 5k plus just makes you grin every time!
Loved my meg, love my Clio.
On track the Clio out brakes the meg easily.
(My Clio is now for sale if ya interested)

What's the reason you sold the Meg and got the 200?
