Did I get caught?

Most insurance companies don't give a toss about 1, 3 point offence. There are too many speed cams now.

If it was over 86mph then you can't get the course.

I got caught a few weeks back doing 40 in this 30 zone. No reason for it to be a 30 at all, they will have caught hundreds of people that day lol

When we went for the run over Wales a few weekends back. A couple of us were giving it some (overtaking 2 cars down a hill while dodging a dead animal and other Clio's) :bumpit: we probably clocked something near 90mph. Suddenly there was a mobile speed camera at the bottom of the hill from a distance of about no more than 150m away. Slammed my brakes on as well did others and since I haven't heard anything.. Houses, lamp posts and no signs = 30mph or that's how I was taught. Really should be signs though.

Everyone knows it's a 30, just no one does 30 as it's an open straight non residential road that's wide enough for 4 cars. They dropped the limit from 40 for no reason. No accidents or puppies getting murdered.

Similar situation with a road near mine, houses set far back with long drives to the road and miles of vision yet they dropped it too a 30, we think theres someone influential lives there. Speed traps always about in the place. Ridiculious.
 
Don't lose all hope, might have been an ANPR camera checking tax and insurance (well worry if you have neither of those I guess...)
 
If its an ANPR you can usually see two cameras. If its speed camera only one "flap" will be open at the back of the van
 
I thought the time limit was 2 years? The speeding fine or whatever can be sent within 2 years, after that nothing

I might be wrong, perhaps it's a year. I just remember looking into it once when I've been flashed
 
I thought if you don't receive one in 14 days then you are safe and it gets cancelled? Read this from the dvla somewhere could be wrong though.

It must reach you within 14 days after you were caught speeding.

"Notice of Intended Prosecution must be sent to the registered owner/keeper of a vehicle (as shown on DVLA records) with a good chance of it reaching them within 14 days. In practice this means posting the notice by first class mail by the thirteenth day after the date of offence
