197 - leaking front damper

HI all,

The front left damper is beginning to leak.

So I started wondering if it's time for a small upgrade.

A friend of mine told me about Bilstein B6 pro kit.
Are they any good?
He said they should provide a bit more comfort on daily basis but less roll when pushed on a track or a B road.
The car is 80% daily driver so coilovers might be overkill + where I live they might fail on MOT..

For/ against? other suggestions?

Not heard of a b6 pro kit? But Bilstein do offer the B14 which a lot of people buy as a step up from standard suspension. Soft enough for daily use and firm enough for a B road blast

I can recommend the B14 kit as above, i used them daily with polybushes up front also and it was firm but not crashy or anything and still perfectly fine. Performed much better in the corners too.

Quite different opinions, i feel that 197 oem suspension is too stiff for finnish bad roads.
I guess it’s all relative to where you are tbh.

If the roads near him are fairly flat n smooth coilovers would be better option.
Granted if it’s like a dirt track and holes galore maybe standard would be best
