Hi mate, never remapped as I figured it was a waste of money when I'd get a turbo car after the Clio. I was very close to getting an exhaust about 2/3 months before I got rid of it, but in the end thought I was best saving the money for the new car! Only cosmetic changes and a different panel...

I'd have taken the asking price too, but can't not haggle ;) they also didn't give a lot for the clio so it evened itself out really. I looked on pistonheads and autotrader every day for the last 2/3 months and this came up on Saturday, rung up Sunday and bought Monday morning

Did you call on Monday? I got there at 10.30am and he said someone was on the phone and it was up to me. I still haggled and got it for £15,750 but it's a lot of car for the money!

Well my 56 plate Albi Blue 197 is going on Saturday :( I have had it nearly 2 and a half years, but fancied a change. I didn't want to lose too much of the handling side of things, and wanted a turbo, so a Megane made perfect sense. This is the replacement, I am very excited :D...

Always tended to do mine at traffic lights if changing settings. Think my problem was down to a loose bolt on the throttle when I put the sprintbooster on originally as I've had no problems since with it both completely off the car, or now I've put it back on but tightened the bolts better :)

Cars been fine ever since with the Sprintbooster off. I've put it back on again and had no problems, so think it may potentially have been that one of the bolts weren't done up tightly enough and caused this problem

Cheers guys, I may take it off tomorrow and just see if it does it again. If it does ill see what fault code is being logged, but having had the car for 2 and a half years nearly and it not done it before the sprintbooster, I'm sure it's something to do with that

I've had a problem with my clio which I have put down to the sprintbooster. I fitted it no more than a month ago but twice within the last week have had the spanner flash up with the message 'injection fault'. The first time this happened I was pulling up to traffic lights and when pulling away...

Yeh I got one of the very last ones, so will be fitting that at the weekend too! :) I'm hoping it will make me want to keep the clio more; I've always disliked the low down response/torque of the Clio, so my next car will either be an R26 (90% sure) or a Leon Cupra K1. I've not had turbo yet, so...

Haha I very nearly put an ad on here to sell them, and saw you were in the market for some, but decided while I'm doing new rear discs this weekend that I will fit them. You never know, these along with the sprintbooster I ordered may make me want to keep the 197 for longer ;)

Morning all! I have a set of H&R lowering springs for my 197 that have sat in the shed for the last 8/9 months, and have finally decided to attempt to fit them. I wasn't going to change anything other than the springs, is this ok? The car has just ticked over 40,000 miles and is a '56, so...

I asked them to keep the flywheel so I could have that done potentially still and try and sell it on. I just didn't have the time to sort it out as they needed a decision quickly; I'm in America this week. But at least I get £500 from the AA I suppose

The parts themselves aren't to bad, £500 of it is labour because the gearbox has to come out etc :(

As a final update, this was the problem... "We have removed your gearbox to find that one of the tensioner springs on the pressure plate has broken. This means that a new clutch kit is needed, but we have noticed that the flywheel has been getting very hot, and there are high spots on it!"...

Another update, potentially not great news :( I left it with the guy and he took it out quickly to try and replicate the noise due to it now stopping, and it broke down on him. He said he could hear something had broken up inside the gearbox bell housing when it went. He said best case...

Hi Matt, haha I wouldn't take it to an actual Renault garage ;) I've taken it to TwoTechs because Ren7oaks were a bit far to ask to be recovered to although they were where I had the cambelt done. Cheers for the offer of help, he's going to have a look tomorrow and hopefully it's just a bearing...

Well, a quick update, took it to the Renault garage and the noise has gone from that video, to quieter last night, to today literally being inaudible after the car had warmed up when the AA dropped it off. I've left it with him to try and replicate the noise when it's cold in the morning and let...

Just had the AA guy round and he seems to think its clutch, but I'll get them to tow it to a local renaultsport specialist and get them to have a look as I get £500 of parts with my AA membership. The noise goes a lot quieter than that video when the cars warmer and the video isnt the greatest...

As soon as it did it I haven't touched it since except the quick video, don't want to risk it if it is engine related. But the engine wasn't under any stress at the time, was a really slow drive, so it would seem strange that something in the engine would go like that? If its anything cambelt...
