My thought process for new discs and pads was to get them done before Cadwell. Thankfully your car is still road legal so you can bed them in with a week or so of road driving, I had to do mine on track. It's very difficult to do a good job of bedding discs and pads in at Cadwell in my...

Piston Heads 197 Track Car auction.

"Touring car-lite". Wow. I do like the fact they're doing a bit of area cooling for the interior light with the roof scoop, I remember mine used to get red hot and you could see the paint on the roof melting. You're all taking the piss but this is top notch preventative maintenance right here!

CLIO 197 CUP - Project TF

Thankfully removing sound deadening is a job you only do once! I still need to do mine...

2006 Deep Black Track Shed BudgetBoltOnBuild

All fingers point to a dodgy new cam position sensor, but the fault codes coming back were all over the place. I fixed a minor exhaust leak and changed loads of bits, cleaned the throttle body, new air filter etc... Realistically I can't say for sure, but as it seems to be fixed I can't say I...

Snetterton - 15th March As you'll all no doubt have seen by now, the Clio has been an absolute pain in the arse with a lack of power, strange noises and generally being a sad panda. As we've got quite a few of us going to Cadwell next month I was using today to get issues ironed out, reasons...

Clio 197 Cup - Track Attack Build

Same engine as my Mondeo. Good spec? I love the heated and cooled seats in mine!

Little bit of prep today for Snetterton tomorrow. It's supposed to be wet for most of the day so I decided that probably wouldn't be the best conditions to be trying to bed a new set of brakes in. Thankfully the EBC RPX pads have got a good amount of meat left in them and the discs are in better...

Ticking Noise After Timing Belt Change

If it makes you feel any better, mine had the belt done recently and had a similar tick. However it's gone now. I've heard several people saying the Motrio aux tensioner can be a bit noisy to start with. Not overly helpful in your case as it's the wrong side of the engine. One thing that might...

    Yellow

Mine has the glovebox removed, centre console is gone, all A pillar plastics and headlining is gone. Only reason the lower dash on the drivers side is still there is because I can't be arsed to make something to relocate the traction control switch. Everything behind the drivers seat is gone bar...

I'd go as far as saying the interior is probably 60kg or so. My Clio from factory was supposedly 1240kg, with the AC taken out and all interior apart from front door cards and dash, plus the addition of the cage, mine weighed in at 1180kg with half a tank of fuel.

Another French shed! Peugeot 306 XSi Targa rally car!

Finally started work on the 306 today. Partly because I want it on the road as a daily (6 miles each way down B roads aren't the best for the poor Mondeo) and also it opens up the possibility to actually use it for the purpose it was originally bodged together for. Sorry. Built! Anyway. No...

Email from Kam Racings this morning saying what @LiamP mentioned. RPX on backorder for the past 4 months! Swapped the order out for a set of Mintex F2R as @RSRowe has always spoken highly of them. Extra £16 but that's nothing. They better be good, Nathe!

Kam racing in the end. Still the cheapest that I could find and Kev is normally pretty quick to let you know if the stuff you've ordered is out of stock.

It's been a bit slack for updates lately but there's not been much to report. Car was having issues after the mega wet day at Blyton last year, dephaser problems, sensor issues, fuelling issues and a heap of other shit. I ended up loading the parts cannon and lighting the fuse. Cadwell was a...

Yeah have done before. Think I've had ignition coils and lambda sensors off them before, main thing is to make sure part numbers are correct against other websites.

It's a brave plan. I'd be changing those discs, a set of Brembo HC will be cheap enough to replace especially if you're not in a hurry. Order from Autodoc on a Monday and you should get a healthy discount if you have an account. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/brembo/8713611 for standard HC discs...
