    RS Megane MK4

Anyone seen any data suggesting what its weight might be? Like me, it looks like it's put on a bit since the Meg III Trophy days

    Battery.

Not for 7 days; I'd contemplate it if I was going for 7 weeks, but decide against it unless i could attach a trickle charger...which I'd definitely ensure I had and used if I was away for 7 months

    The old cam belt issue...

Oh, I wouldn't not buy one, just because this had not been done; I'd discount the asking price accordingly, and get it done as soon as I took delivery. If it was well overdue, I'd factor in the cost of flatbed transport to my Renault specialist of choice. Don't let someone else's problem...

    The old cam belt issue...

Yes, it's unreliable at best...on service history, if you can get this in writing, then you might at least have some possible recourse.

    The old cam belt issue...

It's a wearing part due to both time or use since instal that has a recommended replacement cycle (either time or distance). Left unreplaced, it will ultimately fail (break) meaning the synchronization between crankshaft and cylinders, and camshaft and valves is gone. The resulting engine damage...

    Constant Thermostat Failures!

Maybe get an OBD tool to determine the temperature at which it cuts in first. Should be 90C and if that's what's happening, it's not a stat problem (indeed, if there's no other cooling problem, a broken stat is most likely to have the car running too cool more often than not. That said, it seems...

    Constant Thermostat Failures!

I see quite high oil temps (up to 120C, via the RS Monitor) when tracking my 200 Cup. However, coolant never gets above 93C (DashCommand). Initially, I was concerned about the oil temps but was told by an experienced Renault tech that (a) the RS Monitor reported oil temp is actually "calculated"...

No, genuine Renault stat for 200 is 75C unit Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Constant Thermostat Failures!

The spec calls for a 75C stat. Engineers make these decisions for good reasons, so I'd certainly hesitate in fitting an 89C stat. If you were to do this, it would seem logical also to raise the thermo fan threshold.

    Constant Thermostat Failures!

So, what part of that temperature range seems wrong to you? Very similar to what mine does, and which I am told is the correct operation. When my stat was malfunctioning, it would hardly get to 75C. Now, it warms up to 75, the stat opens, it cools down a couple of degrees...stat closes etc if...

MS 200 fun road and track car - and other car stuff!

Ah yes...I believe I have read about Combrake top mounts as being a possible solution...but I'm not sure where, cost or what is involved.

It's the top mounts -- bolt positions and centre. You can, of course, modify these but it's non- trivial

I'd love to use them on mine, but I have Cup suspension so cant' fit them. [emoji25]

    Greg's Albi Blue Clio 200

I've had this noise, or something similar. I'd suggest jacking up the car, and checking for any balljoint (lower control arm) movement on that side. This was my problem, although I still have some noise on that side [emoji53]
