    Black 197 Trackday Clio

That's going to be too high for me. I can move my seat up a bit but don't want to go too far. Nice to be able to check so thanks for that

    Black 197 Trackday Clio

Good stuff :thumb: Could you do me a favour, I'm the same (tall), so would you mind measuring vertically up from the floorpan to the bottom of the harness slots on your seats to give me an idea of how my seat/harness height would compare to yours. My seats are on OMP subframes but mounted as...

    Black 197 Trackday Clio

I'm looking to replace my Oulton cage with a proper rear half, and that looks a nice bit of kit Harness bar heights though, isn't it less than ideal to have the harnesses at a downward angle at the rear? Edited for clarity; Poor description sorry, shouldn't the harnesses run downwards away...

Sideshowfreds Ultra Red 200 -- Fully Caged Track Toy

My existing (company) car is a Toyota Avensis, limit is 1800kg and whilst car only is alright-ish once you have tools and wheels etc in the boot it's not a pleasant experience at all. New option is a 320d for which the latest model is only 1600kg so going to be a non starter with the 525/530kg...

Sideshowfreds Ultra Red 200 -- Fully Caged Track Toy

Thanks, very interesting I'm really interested for towing weight primarily, so comparing with yours and Beanys, I think mine (stripped with basic 'oulton' rear cage) would be about 1125-1150kgs. This is ok for the limit of my current tow car (trailer is 550kg or thereabouts) at 1800kg limit...

    Oulton Park Cage and harnesses

Yes, like I say it's not a ideal solution though as the angle is poor.

    Oulton Park Cage and harnesses

There are two mounting bars that go under the triangular plates at the bottom of the rear stays (these bolt between two rear suspension pick up points). My harnesses loop under these bars. It's not ideal as the harness angle is right on the 45 degree limit and a suitable cage with harness bars...

Don't think they slot into groves, but they do catch the centre of the squib to self cancel yes

Mike's Clio 200 track day car

Thanks for the offer, I'm in Bristol so maybe not that far. However, car is uninsured, not MOT'd or taxed so would have to hire a trailer etc and possibly take a day off work to take it anywhere.

Mike's Clio 200 track day car

Ok, so many months have passed and I am finally getting round to fitting the replacement boss. The previous owner of my car decided the best way to deal with the redundant wires when they fitted an aftermarket wheel was this So I bought a replacement squib from ebay, fitted that and I now...

Mike's Clio 200 track day car

I don't have a picture to hand but yes, pretty much as you describe. Going to order this one (they don't list a 200 one specifically) https://www.ybracing.com/omp-od1960re117a-fit05-omp-steering-wheel-hub-boss-kit-for-renault-clio-mk3-197-cup-(15mm)-08-12.html

Mike's Clio 200 track day car

Just before the last trackday I took the steering wheel off to investigate how to fit airbag resistors, bit of a concern that the boss hardly slides on to the column splines at all. Took it on and off a few times but something isn't right I think. Pics of the boss below, any thoughts if it is...

    Project CUP mkII

Can you expand on this a bit please. I think I might have the same issue on my 200. Took the wheel off to investigate the non-functioning horn (been butchered, needs new clockspring) but found that the boss only slides a few mm back onto the splines before bottoming out and also indicators don't...

Mike's Clio 200 track day car

Track day #5. That's more like it Castle Combe again today. It's a motor club organised event so not quite the usual track day. Huge range of car performance from lightly modded Minis (not MINIs) and MX5s through usual track day stuff like Clios and Westfields right up to a 458 Italia (I think)...
