Is it possible to change the sensor by just removing the black front cover of the wing mirror or do I have to take off the glass first? I have no reading at all on the screen -could there be another problem other than a faulty sensor?

My mechanic says that the Air temperature gauge under the front bumper is missing. That in itself doesn't concern me ,but is the running of the engine dependant on the reading of this sensor,or is it just for internal display? Other than Renault ,where can I purchase one?

Decided to test the battery as car was new to me. Left the 197 for over a week under a good foot of snow until it all melted today. Started first button - very positive !

Noticed that there are chrome tailpipe ends on some of the 197s. The one I'm buying doesn't and the exhaust pipes end within the diffuser some centimetres short of the end of the diffuser. Is that normal or a problem or do I just get some chrome ends to smarten it up?
