Inner Track Rod Removal

No need to look - can just be removed using a tool. Which tool do you have? I used this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00A9R25J8/?tag=clio197-21

Made the job pretty easy... just make sure you torque it up properly, and be sure to have some grease

Cheers mate I have a similar draper tool. Did you Loctite the track rod? Obviously grease the rod that the boot covers - just a multi purpose grease?

I didn't, did not see any loctite on the rod that was removed, and to be honest I didn't anything about that in the manual.

Just some standard multi purpose grease will do, iirc the ball joint, and the rack need greasing - greasing the rod shouldn't be needed.

One thing I recall being rather a pain was clipping the boots on! You'll also need a 21mm spanner for the locknut too iirc.

the problem you will find will be securing the boot clips the genuine inner track rods have a band clamp with a tool just getting straight access to operate the tool. No need the thread lock, I've never greased the ball joint the boot does the job. If your dropping the sub frame for any reason I would do the job then along with the anti roll bar bushes but for this job it's not worth it.

i didnt have to tool at the time but had some old style type pipe grips with the rack on full lock i could just get the grips to fit...if you have the tool should be a breeze to sort
