Down at diamond motors in nottingham for the clios 1st service under my ownership, 10 days left until I leave for europe, cars also getting a quick inspection from mick to see if theyres any issues, i saw diamond motors get reccomended on a few forums so thought id take the drive down from manchester and was well worth it as he seems very knowledgeable with all things RS related! Also some nice cars in the car park including a 182 trophy!

My uncle had a white valver and a guy a few streets away had a williams so was nice to see one again!

My last shift at work is saturday night, hoping to be out by 1am as im on the night shift and ill be leaving for the eurotunnel around 10pm sunday to miss all the traffic on the UK motorways and then get into france for around 5am if all goes well, just took the rear seat bench out aswell for abit more room for all my gear, will give the car a good clean inside & out after work then im off so thought id put this post up as one final prep update before i leave, I’ll update as i go over the next 2 weeks or so, just small updates & a few pics and then ill put a proper write up in this thread or might even make a new post completely depending on how many pics i have! Cheers✌️

Took the car to the renaultsport/alpine factory yesterday just too have a look around and also thought it would be quite cool with the R27’s being made there, was loads of the new alpine models atleast 25, is it the a110? Quite a few 200 turbos also, Left france this morning was getting to temperatures of 36 degrees in the car at one point! Im now in spain and have just been through the pyrenees, currently at a petrol station with one of the best views i’ve ever seen, not too far from portugal, some really nice roads & scenery around here! Also found a seat that had seen better days! my bluetooth adaptor broke out of the blue which was annoying so had to make do with cds and a speaker i had to buy, luckily i have a about 60+ CDs with me in a case! More pics soon, just a quick update while i fill up!

After about 15 mins due to the language barrier i finally got it across that the car was not hotwired but it was actually a box used for young drivers insurance which had been cut out by one of the previous owners, when i was trying to fix my bluetooth adaptor i must of knocked it out of place and it was hanging down from where the ignition would be, when i got my key card back i could finally show him that its push button start, he just started laughing with his mate and let me go then, the car seems to be a police magnet regardless of which country its in

that's brill mate..gotta say i would not like to be in your shoes..on your own and having 2 guys not letting me out of my car..also them not speaking proper english must have been tough..
i had a similar experience while driving through Germany 2 years ago..got pulled over and had to do exactly the same thing..again,an unmarked police checking on drug smugglers and weapon dealers..like i look like one of them :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

a piece of advice if you are travelling alone...find a petrol station or a place where there are other drivers having their break..

Wow, that would have shit me up as well in the middle of the night!! I've heard that the foreign police can be quite keen with British drivers, but at least they saw the funny side in the end! I hope it hasn't tarnished the trip too much!
