revs sticking from cold start?

hi all,i've noticed a few times recently that my revs seem stick at 2000rpm when i first start my car on a morning, this only lasts for around 20 to 30 seconds then they drop off to where they should be,at times i can also make the revs drop by blipping the throttle, the car used to rev at around 1200rpm when cold before so just wondered if anyone knows why its changed? cheers

Mine does this most mornings especially when cold but yeah as noddie said its most probably the auto choke doing its thing

Is this not just the auto-choke working its thing?

theres no "choke" anymore on modern f-i engines.....it just puts a bit more fuel in and a higher engine speed etc

its also set to get the "cats" up to temperature quickly
