Pleased that it's all done now
My mind is a bit more at rest.

On the trip front I set the cruise control at 70 and let it drive.
It manged 34.5 mpg.
Just over quater of a tank from Shrewsbury to Leeds I'm chuffed with that if I'm honest.

Next thing is get all the dics and calipers sorted out.

Can anyone recommend a place to rebuild/paint calipers?

Hi mate. Car looks great.

How much did you pay for that with Paul at RST? I'm currently pricing up various places.

There is a lot of play in the gearstick 2cm back and 1cm to the side) now so wondering if this could be the issue?? Will be having a look at this at some point as it dosnt feel direct like when I bought it? Worn bush?.

Please for the love of god update me if you manage to figure out how to fix this, my gear stick has so much play in it like 2cm forwards and 1cm left and right and it only happened after one of my gear selector things popped off.

Ever since I popped it back on it's been loose, so I'm thinking it's related to that or the ball joint bit it attaches to on the gearbox but I've no idea how to go about trying to fix it :worried:

Nice sparkly calipers..what color are you going for?

Hi Pav.
Heard you were enjoying the witch.
Yeah they are very clean, I'm thinking about some kind of blue as its a non cup model.
The decal will be in white but I'm unsure on a normal Brembo or some kind of Renault sport.
Thoughts?

Hi chris.
I booked in with Paul when they had there Christmas/new year offer of No vat.
I also sourced all the parts my self so cut price down.
They charged me £300 for labour.
Hope that helps.

Hi dale.

I had a quick feel about on top of the gearbox the other day when I changed the oil, The linkage feels pretty loose so maybe that needs looking at first of all.
When I get time again I will have a proper look and fiddle.
The battery box looks proper fiddly to remove.

Update.

Callipers were sent the other day to be sprayed.
Can't wait to see how they come out now.

Went to preformance action day last Saturday.
Really good show, great watching the cars on the track. There was some really nice bits of kit there.
Seen a few cars from off here but didn't see the owners (apart from on track)
The car managed a healthy 36.3mpg on the way down that was sat at around 70 all the way.

The reverse lights are still not working. Iv re checked my fuses and now seem to be blown.
So Iv had the conector out the switch and bridged a wired and guess what.....still not working.
Is there a relay for the reverse light. Press brake to start and rear wiper working when you go in to reverse?

Iv also had a look at the mechanism on top of the gearbox today.
Is it suppose to have play as I can lift it up and down.
I did have a video for you but photobucket won't seem to process it.

I'm slowly starting to collect part numbers for clips and bits I need to/want replace in the clio.

Looking for part numbers for both lambda sensor/02 sensors for a 200 if any body happens to no?
( I have looked on the forum but I'm confused on which ones are correct)

I as much as he car is a pain it is great fun to drive, I turned the traction control off the other day and drove out to mum's.
(The B4386 which is the Shrewsbury to Montgomery road)
I have to say I was very very impressed with how it feels when being pushed.
There is still room to improve it as there is with anything but considering it only has cooksport springs and non cup dampers it gets a big thumbs up.

Hopefully this video works.

This is what I was on about with the gearbox mechanism on top of the box.
Is it surpose to be moving like this?

Okay so as @///M pointed out my video isn't working.
Iv sorted it now. Thanks @///M.

As above should this gearbox mechanism/lever be moving up and down like this?

Update.

Still waiting on the callipers. But brake calliper specialists did ring me to confirm the colour And decal I wanted which was nice.

I'm awaiting a second hand Acoustic soloniod as @AshK thinks that's what may be bringing the engine light up with the code I have.

Today I fitted my gearbox engine mount. The original one had a few splits in the little turret bit.
It's made hell of a difference to the change and the way the car feels at high RPM.
I'm surprised that it hasn't made the car vibrate anymore but then I'm use to BBM group N engine mounts on a diesel 206.

While I fitted the mount I noticed there is a bit of a leak on the plastic plug where you put the gearbox oil.
So Iv tightened it up a bit more.

I forgot to take pictures of the old gearbox mount unit.
But here is a few of the new one.

This is where I'm at.
What needs doing:

Front radiator sub frame. Rotten.
Lower ball joints.
Gearbox (I can live with this for now)
Lower engine tray (mines missing)
New arch liner clips.
Change acoustic solenoid as suggested by @AshK
Scuttle tray clean.
Steering wheel Retrim.

What id like to do.

Sprint spoiler
Boot respray down to rust spot.
Rear stub spacers
V6 air box (unsure)
If I don't do a v6 airbox some silicone pipes.
Inlet manifold and cam/rocker cover paint.
General engine bay clean up. (Caught the shuv bug)
